I just got invited to the draft. I'm so excited, especially since I can see it now in person without being there for someone else. I love Connor but this is so exciting. Speaking of, I need to tell him the news. I went back to North Van with him since my parents thought I was "weak" for not playing in the playoffs.

I ran down the stairs, almost slipping on the hardwood with my socks. I ran into the kitchen where Connor was making lunch with a grin. He turned and smiled confused.

"What's got you so hyped up?" He questioned while turning back to the air fryer and taking out whatever was in there.

"Wellll.." I dragged out for suspicion. Connor sent me a playful glare. "I was invited to the draft!" I exclaimed. I looked like a kid in a candy store.

"Oh my God really?!" He asked me with a high pitched voice. I nodded and we both jumped in a circle together. After that, he pulled me into a hug.

A few months later..

Connor and I currently are getting ready for the draft. I picked out a black, short, skin-tight dress with black converse. Curling my hair, I put on a bit of make up and left the room. Connor was sitting in the living room waiting.

"Hey." I said as I walked down.

"Holy sh-" He cut himself off as his mother gave him a stern look. "You look beautiful." He continued after clearing his throat.

"You clean up well." I kissed him and we left the hotel to head out. Once we were there, we were given our table and told the draft would begin in 15 minutes. Connor left to get us all drinks which opened an opportunity for reporters to swarm me.

The voices all got mixed and I was starting to feel anxious. My hand flew to my nail and started to pick it, which is a bad habit I picked up in middle school. My breathing started getting heavier before I saw all of them spreading and leaving.

"Hey baby." A familiar voice said. "You're okay. I'm right here." Connor did some breathing things and told me to follow. Once I calmed, he wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please take a seat as the draft begins now." Idk if that's how it starts lmao. I sat down with Connor's arm tightly around my shoulder and my head on his shoulder. The Chicago Blackhawks were first.

"The Chicago Blackhawks would like to present, first overall, from the Regina Pats, Connor Bedard!" The representative announced. I stood up and hugged him before he went to his family. He went up on stage and got his jersey and hat, taking a picture. Next up were the Anaheim Ducks.

"The Anaheim Ducks would like to present, second overall, from the Saskatoon Blades, Mia Scott!" I smiled brightly and hugged Connor's parents and went on stage. I took pictures and that before getting sent back for interviews being one of the only girls to be drafted to the NHL.

I walked back and was met with Connor doing an interview before me. I stood back with a smirk as he hadn't seen me yet. Stepping away from the interviewers, he still didn't see me. They called me up and that's when he noticed me.

I did my interview before stepping down and walking back with the Anaheim representative to a back room. I saw Connor there and he immediately ran to me. I jumped into his arms with my legs around his waist.

"Holy shit!" He exclaimed. I gave him a confused look. "We're going to be the coolest hockey couple out there." I chuckled softly before my face dropped. "What?"

"We're going to be so far from each other." I frowned. "We'll really only see each other during games."

"Don't think about that now." He said with a smile. "Focus on the current. On what's happening." I smiled before connecting our lips.

3 months later..

I'm in Anaheim. Connor's in Chicago.

We decided to do long distance since we have done it in the past. But even then, could you call Saskatoon and Regina long distance? I sighed when I heard my phone ring. I picked it up and answered without looking at the contact.

"Hello?" I asked tiredly.

"Well well. That bored without me?" Connor's cheery voice came through the speaker.

"How's Chicago goin'?" I questioned after putting the phone on speaker to continue unpacking in my small apartment.

"Boring without you." He replied flirtatiously. I laughed.

"That's bad." We talked for about 2 hours before we had to go. "I loveee youu."

"I love you more." Connor said, hanging up before I could argue. I chuckled softly to myself. 1 1/2 months until we're in Chicago. Only 1 1/2 more months until I see you again.
