"As you all know, magic is the act of creating a natural phenomenon artificially through sacrificing one's mana. And for mages, individuals who could manipulate this mana, to repeat certain phenomenons, they bestow a name for it which became spells. Now, can anyone tell me what is the two most important factors in casting magic spells?"

"Yes. The two most important factors in casting magic spell are the amount of mana we have and how meaningful the chants are. The more mana and the more intricate the chant, the effect of the phenomenon we can create will rise exponentially."

A blonde haired boy with glasses said full of confidence and most of the students nodded their head in agreement.

"Are there anymore answers?"

"Yes yes! It's how creative the chant is and how much we practice!"

A girl with shoulder length auburn hair tied into a twin tail said in a cheery voice.

"Thank you for answering. Although I agree with Ms. Rina's 'importance of practice', everything else were wrong."

All the students became confused at Leon's words. After all, the answer Kierk, the bespectacled blonde haired boy, said was what they've learned. However, after seeing Leon's magic, the decided to stay silent and listen to him.

"The two most important factors are how clearly you can imagine the spell in your mind and how skillfully you can control your mana."

All of them looked at him confusedly, demanding explanation. Seeing their interest piqued, Leon smiled in his heart.

They might be prideful and some arrogant, but they still have the desire to learn. It's not hopeless.

"In order to realise a phenomenon using magic, you need to have clear image of your spell. This can be done by understanding the principle behind your spell. For instance..."

Leon extended his right hand forward and conjured a simple fireball on his palm,

"Why does fire burn? How does it burn? What is the best way to utilise the principle behind it to increase its firepower?"

Then he extended his left hand forward and made a spiral of water whirl around his palm.

"And for water magic, you need to question how does it behave? How does it flow? How does it freeze?"

The spiral of water suddenly froze over, creating an artistic spiral of ice which then vanished into particles of ice.

"Understanding the principle behind your spell will increase the effectiveness and power behind your spells. Of course, this also applies to the other elements."

After he finished his explanation, Kierk rose his hand.

"Yes, Mr. Kierk."

"Sir, how about wind magic? Isn't it simply using mana to control the wind?"

"Yes. However, by understanding how to control the flow of wind could increase the versatility and precision of your magic. In fact, wind magic is one of, if not, the most versatile element out of all. For example, if you understand the principle behind how a tornado form, you can cast it more easily, given you have sufficient control over your mana."

All the students gasped. Conjuring a tornado is considered advanced spell which even the royal magicians need time to cast. However, this man was saying they could do it easily if they understand the principle behind it and have sufficient mana control.
