CHAPTER FORTY-TWO:
CLICHÉ'S

AFTER HAVING THE ENTIRE weekend with just herself and Jasper, Luna couldn't help but feel that things were starting to get better. And though the two were positive that everyone in the school knew of their relationship, they decided to keep the PDA for their eyes only. Meaning Luna would drive in her own car, as Jasper would ride in his. They would hold hands under the tables, and share a private kiss during their free period when no one else was around.

After that one night that they had spent together, it seemed as if their love had only grown ten times more. It was like they needed to make up for the lost time, the months they had spent away from one another. Luna wasn't complaining one bit.

The Star girl arrived almost at the same time as Edward, the two leaving right after each other. Luna got out of the car and furrowed her eyebrows when she saw Jacob standing there in front of the school. A smile fell on the blonde's features as she made her way up to him. When Jacob saw the girl, he couldn't help but smile. Luna was back in business, and by the way her smile lit up the entire parking lot he could tell.

"What a surprise to see you here." Luna stated.

"Hey, L." Jacob greeted. The two exchanged hugs. "You seem to be much better than the last I saw you. You two finally make up."

"Why do you gotta say it like that?" Luna asked as she pulled away from the hug. He shrugged his shoulders.

"I know I'm supposed to hate them and all, but seeing you upset was not a fun thing to experience. Never thought I'd say it, but I'm glad you and Hale are together once more." Jacob told her sincerely.

"Thank you, Jake." Luna smiled. She turned her head when she saw Bella and Edward start to walk forward. Luna moved so that she was on Jacobs side.

"Charlie said you left town." Jacob spoke as Bella stopped in front of him.

"Yeah, to visit my mom. Why?" Bella asked.

"He's checking to see if you're still human." Edward said with an amused smirk.

"Look, I'm here to warn you. If your kind come on our land again. . ."

"Wait, what?" Both Bella and Luna asked.

"You didn't tell them?" Jacob asked.

"Tell us what?" The two girls spoke in unison again.

"Emmett and Paul had a misunderstanding. There's nothing to worry about." Edward simply explained. Luna nodded her head, positive there was more to the story than that.

"Listen to you, did you lie to get her out of town?" Jacob asked, looking at the male vampire.

"Just leave. Now." Edward demanded through gritted teeth.

"She has a right to know. She's the one the red hair wants."

Luna visibly froze at those words. Bella shot her a worried glance before looking over at Edward. "Victoria? Alice's vision?"

"I was trying to protect you." Edward told her.

"By lying to me!" Bella shouted. She then turned to look at Jacob. "Why haven't you called me back?"

"I have nothing to say." He told her before making his way towards his bike. Just then, Jasper walked up to Luna and gave her a worried look. She sent him a tight smile in response before looking back at her friend.

"Well, I have tons. Hold on." Bella followed the wolf. Edward tried to stop her. "Edward, you have to trust me."

"I do trust you. It's him I don't trust." Edward states. Bella climbs onto the back of Jacob's bike, a wide grin on his face as he gave Edward a taunting look

"Hey, loose the grin Jacob. We're just going for a ride." Bella mumbled as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Hold on tight." He tells her before speeding off.

"Why didn't you tell me you were chasing Victoria?" Luna asked as she and Jasper started towards the school.

"Because you deserved a weekend without worries." He truthfully told her. Luna glanced at him, shoving his arm lightly when she saw the smirk on his face.

"Forget I asked, Hale." Luna stated as she walked up to her locker. Jasper leaned against the one beside of hers. She opened her locker and placed everything in her locker minus a pencil and her sketch book.

"Sorry, darlin', couldn't help myself." Jasper told her. Luna looked at him, her eyes narrowing at him when his smirk only grew wider.

"We have a rule for this. Remember." Luna scolded him.

"Aren't rules meant to be broken?"

Luna cocked an eyebrow at his response. "Never thought you were the rebellious kind mister Hale."

He shrugged his shoulders as he smirked at her. "I have my moments."

"You're such a dork." Luna chuckled, closing her locker just as the bell had rung. They were the only ones that were left in the hallway.

"I'm your dork."

"Look at you being all cliché." Luna laughed, a sound that Jasper had missed desperately.

"You bring out all of the cliché's from me." He softly told her, his southern drawl strong on his words. Luna was sure that if she still could, she would be blushing like mad. Luna smiled up at him before giving him a kiss on the corner of his mouth. Since he was taunting her, she decided to taunt him.

"Good." She whispered in his ear before taking a step back and sending him a smirk before walking away. The Hale boy immediately following after her.
