"I'm assuming by the way Peter's been staring at you, you guys ended up having a chat?"

You jumped a little at MJ's voice right next to you, giving her a look. "What?"

"Look up."

You glanced up to where Ned and Peter were sitting, doing their group work. By the time you looked up, though, Peter's head was already moving down and he was suddenly focusing a little too hard on his work. The pink tinge in his cheeks gave him away, though.

"Coward," MJ muttered, and you gave her a look.

It had been only a week since you and Peter finally talked about everything. There wasn't much else to say after that night, and you had only seen him during patrol and school. It was relieving to at least be able to start a friendship with Peter, and to rekindle your friendship with Spider-Man. But it went unsaid that you were both going to take it kind of slow.

"Guessing your talk went well," MJ wiggled her eyebrows at you, and you gave her a small shove as she snickered at you.

"Yes, it did."

"He's seemed jumpy all week, even this morning when he talked to me about the meet," she rolled her eyes, "I can guess why."

"Oh, he's talking to you again? Good," you tried to change the subject slightly.

"Yeah, he's already apologized to me," MJ waved her hand, "Which meant you must have talked some sense into him."

"More like you talked some sense into me and then I talked to him," you chuckled, "But I think we both needed the push you gave us. We're lucky to have you, MJ."

"I know," she winked, making you roll your eyes, "And I was right. He was beating himself up over how much of an asshole he is, still is I think. You'll probably forgive him before he can forgive himself."

You scrunched your eyebrows up at that comment. That night was about apologies and starting over - you didn't even think about having to forgive him for anything. After all, you had been equally as horrible to him.

But you hadn't realized he might still be upset at himself.

You didn't get to think about that more when the bell for class rang, and students started hurrying to get to lunch. You took your time packing your things away, knowing it would just be you and Peter at lunch since MJ had to talk to Mr. Harrington about the upcoming meet, and Ned had to take a quiz he had missed.

Peter wasn't at the table when you sat down, probably at his locker. You weren't sure you would be up for much of a conversation anyway, because your headaches had come back once you started patrolling again. Not to mention the new villain that seemed to be able to produce just as awful headaches for you as Swarm did.

"You okay?" Peter's concerned voice startled you a little, and you looked up to see him sitting down next to you. You didn't even realize you had been holding your head in your hands. "Last night was too much, wasn't it?"
