"You have got to be shitting me."

The voice behind you made you flinch a little, the familiar tone causing you to scoff as you turned to face Peter.

"What are you doing in my dorm, Parker?" You gave him a look, seeing a box under his arm and a shocked yet annoyed look on his face.

"You mean our dorm," he said a little slowly, holding up a paper with his free hand that looked similar to the one they gave you when you first moved in. You snatched it from his hands and sent him a little glare before looking at it.

Your mouth fell open in shock as you read his paper, seeing he was right - he had the same room number as you. Your guide didn't bother to tell you your roommate's name, otherwise you probably would have suggested a new room immediately.

"There's gotta be a mistake, they wouldn't put a boy and girl together," you muttered, shoving the paper on his chest. "I'm going to the front desk after I finish unpacking."

"Screw waiting, I'll go there now," Peter rolled his eyes, "There's no way in hell I'm dorming with you all year."

"Tell me about it," you snap, trying to ignore the dirty look he's giving you. "Are you going or what, then?"

Peter opened his mouth to probably snap something back but someone new came in the room before he could get it out.

"Y/N, is that you?" Your eyes widened when you saw Peter's Aunt appear in the doorway with a wide grin on her face, another box in her arms that she quickly set down so she could hug you.

"Hey, May," your face softened a little as your annoyance faded, and you hugged her back. "It's been a while."

"Understatement of the century," she chuckled, pulling back and looking you in the face, "Where have you been?"

Your glanced at Peter, who was glaring at the floor. Clearly he hadn't mentioned to May anything that had happened in the past months. "Just been busy, that's all. How are you?"

May was quick to dive into a conversation about her job at the hospital, telling Peter to get the rest of his things from the car while she caught up with you. He was clearly uncomfortable and that made you grin a little, but mostly you were happy to catch up with May.

She was definitely one of your favorite people, and basically a second mother to you. Losing her in the crossfire of whatever happened to you and Peter was almost as bad as losing Peter himself.

"I'm so glad you and Peter are roommates, it's weird they'd pair a boy and girl, but you guys are friends so it's totally fine," she waved her hand, missing the grimace on your face. He definitely hadn't told her anything, which annoyed you a little bit, but when had anything he had done in the last several months not annoyed you?

"Yeah," you laughed a little awkwardly, glad Peter wasn't in the room when she said that. "Listen, I'd love to stay and chat but I have a meeting for one of my classes that I have to get to pretty soon and I should leave now, so I won't be late."

Total lie, but she bought it.

"Of course honey," she gave you another hug, and you had to admit it was so nice to see her again. "Do you want to say bye to Peter before you go? I'm sure he'll be back any second."
