Percy: Hey, do you think your mom and Lord Hermes are dating?
Annabeth: *looks up from her book* No, why would you think that?
Percy: They hang out a lot.
Annabeth: I'm sure they're just good friends. I mean, they do have a lot in common.
Percy: *raises an eyebrow* Really? Because I just saw them walk out of this coffee shop.
Annabeth: Wait, what? *whirls her head around to look at Athena and Hermes outside the window*
Hermes: *puts a hand of the small of her back before offering to carry her paper bag filled with newly-purchased books* Such a nerd, Ena.
Athena: *rolls her eyes at him but snickers*
Hermes: *gives her an endearing smile*
Annabeth: Like... really good friends.
Percy: Uh-huh -
Athena: *leans over to give him a quick kiss on the lips*
Percy and Annabeth: *jaws drop*
Percy: Okay, I was expecting that... but at the same time, I really wasn't.
Annabeth: Oh. My. Gods.
Hermes: *blushes and gives her a flustered look*
Athena: *grabs the cup of coffee from his hand and takes a sip out of it*
Hermes: *takes her free hand in his and laces their fingers together*
Athena and Hermes: *walk off*
Percy and Annabeth: *gape at them*
Percy: I knew it! Thalia and Jason owe me five bucks!
Annabeth: *gives him a look of disbelief* You were betting on them?
Percy: *gives her a sheepish look* Well, yeah.
Annabeth: *smacks his arm* You were betting on Athena and Hermes being together?
Percy: Hey! I knew I was gonna win the bet! Have you even seen those two?
