Karma walked home after work was over, wanting to check in with Nagisa on his progress within Takahashi's organization. Iyuka's school had ended already, so she would be home, but likely in her room.

Karma walked through the security system to the front door, unlocking the front entrance before striding in.

The front room was quiet, so Karma dropped his work bags in their room before going up to Nagisa's assassination room and going through the long process to open the doors.

As expected, Nagisa was sitting at his computer, typing away. Without looking back he greeted Karma, who was grabbing his chair and rolling it over next to Nagisa.

"Any news?" Karma asked.

Nagisa nodded. "Yama-san got into contact with me through the email you sent him and gave me access to all of Takahashi's online files. He also told me the location of all the paper files Takahashi keeps, though those are fewer in number. Tomorrow I'll go to the location and see if any of the paper files are useful. Though I've been looking through his online files and found he's managed to find some connections to assassination, though nothing solid. He has a file full of the people who work for them and when I scrolled through it I found at least three assassins. Nobody very high in rank, but people who might try to talk to me sooner or later." Nagisa summarized.

Karma nodded along, taking in the information. "I see. I also used the data you hacked for me to check on Takahashi's illegal imports and overseas work. I have solid proof but no legal way to represent it. Can you send a few assassins to a location I send to take out some of his managers? It'll slow him down and force him to worry about that if he wants to keep his money. If he doesn't something will go wrong and I'll have probable reason to obtain the information on the companies."

Nagisa made a hum of agreement before pulling up his private server and getting in contact with three of his assassins. Karma typed in the address of the building and Nagisa finished up the order before sending it along.

The two let out a sigh.

"Why do we have to deal with this?" Nagisa murmured, tiredly.

Karma shrugged. "We're good people. Takahashi is only after me since I keep shutting down the corruption he uses to make money and he's taking it out on you. And you went to learn how to protect yourself and be safe after Korosensei's death and that's his hook to get you--and in turn get me. It's bullshit."

Nagisa sighed again and rest his head onto Karma's shoulder. "Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice."

"Hm?"

"Becoming a true assassin. I could have picked another job--maybe if things had gone differently I would be a teacher. I questioned a few times if I would rather that than the assassination life, but I was too far to turn back so I gave up."

Karma kissed Nagisa's hair softly. "Hey, if you became a teacher who's to say we'd be married right now? Who knows if we'd have Iyuka or any of the other great things we have now. We can't change the past--so let's appreciate the present for what it is."

Nagisa let out a soft chuckle at that. "You're such a sap. Sometimes I question what happened to the delinquent from Kunugigaoka."

"Well," Karma mused, "you happened. My sweet little snake~." Karma purred, softly running the back of his nails over Nagisa's scales.
