Disclaimer: I own Elizabeth, all the rest of the characters unless otherwise noted do not belong to me.

~And maybe we got lost in translation

Maybe I asked for too much

But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up

Running scared, I was there

I remember it all too well~

Mornings are simply more fun on the Upper East Side. Our favorite things to wake up to, the sun in the sky the Nikkei on the rise and a wake-up call from your latest lover or your best friend

Elizabeth walked out of her room dressed for school. She hadn't really heard from Nate since she left his family's event and the fight with Carter.

"Did you write it yourself?" Jenny asked, "Or did you pay Lizzie to write it for you?"

"What did I write?" she asked.

"Dan has his first official fan letter" Jenny replied "He's super excited"

"No 'The New Yorker' forwarded it to me. Some kid read my story, he loved it."

"Postage stamp to prove it" Elizabeth asked grabbing it. "It's legit"

"I wish I would have had brothers" Dan said. "They wouldn't be this mean"

"No, you don't" the girls said as they walked further into the kitchen and Dan handed something to their dad.

"What's this?" their dad asked.

"It's my entry packet from Yale. There's just a couple more forms you need to fill out and then we're done"

"My Columbia one should be in soon as well" Elizabeth replied.

"Look at us. Everything's working out" their dad said which actually didn't make her feel better about anything.

"You're in Yale, Lizzie is in Columbia and Jenny might actually make it to 16."

"It was a little touch and go there for a while"

"Yes, but I still have 24 hours to mess up so...uh Dad I don't smell coffee"

"Oh good it's not just me. I thought that maybe I had gotten used to the smell that I couldn't smell it anymore" Elizabeth said.

"The waffle iron is cold" Dan replied.

"The waffle iron is never cold. What's going on Dad?"

"Lily is doing breakfast today" their dad said "She wants to talk to us"

"Ominous"

"Or delicious. I mean, do you know how many types of jam they have there?" Jenny said.

"Sounds adventurous" Elizabeth said. "I can skip meeting Drew for this"

"Come on we're going to be late"

"This is like the first time you've eaten breakfast with us in a while" Dan said to Elizabeth.

"No Twin mind reading and no I don't want to talk about it" she said as they walked out the door.

They arrived at the Van der Woodsen's. Elizabeth's phone vibrated and she looked.
