Jailyn~

"There are new developments in the Olivia Taylor case," the TMJ4 reporter announces. Even though I knew this information would become public, it's still difficult to stomach the attention that's about to be on me. "The twenty-two-year-old whose body was found a little over a month ago was allegedly in contact with Team USA Softball and Milwaukee native, Jailyn James-Yelich."

Jailyn is confirmed to have dated the lone suspect, Nick Kelly, for several months in 2017. She is set to appear during the trial as a character witness on the prosecution's side. The prosecution is also seeking additional charges, including second-degree sexual assault. The additional charges were added after Mrs. James-Yelich met with District Attorney Jessica Sullivan about a week ago. At this time, the trial is set to start on December 17, just under two months after Olivia's body was found.

Shutting the TV off, I get up off the couch leaving my phone there, and heading upstairs. God only knows what storm of notifications is about to be started now that I'm officially connected. As grateful as I am for the life I get to live, having so many people know so much all the time isn't my favorite. Now that things are starting to trickle out, I'm sure the internet is already trying to pick it apart.

Grabbing a set of gym clothes I change quickly before packing my gym bag. "Hey," Christian greets, hand on my hip from behind, "Heading to the gym?"

"Yeah, gonna try to blow off a little steam before tonight," I tell him, standing up again so I can kiss him. "Wanna join?"

"Yeah, just let me change," He tells me, kissing me gently, "Everything okay?"

Chuckling, I just nod, "Not every day everyone gets to know about how much of a psycho your ex is."

"Definitely a new one," Christian confirms, "We can head out in a second."

Resetting, I kick my feet around in the box a moment before cocking my bat back again ready for Christian to toss the next ball. Sending a sharp liner directly back at him we both chuckle as he flinches back when it hits the net. "We should invest in a cage for the house," I comment.

Christian's laugh makes me smile, "Where would we put it?"

"Backyard?" I point out.

"I'm sure our HOA would love that," He replies, honestly I forget we're part of one of those. "Definitely wouldn't fly in Malibu."

"Sorry we haven't been able to get back there," I tell him honestly.

"Nah, don't be," He reassures me, "I love Milwaukee, and it's been kind of cool getting to be here in the winter. No part of us being here's your fault."

"I know," I reply, taking my next swing. "Once this is all said and done we should go somewhere. Far away."

"Far away, huh?" Christian says with a smile, "We can definitely get something arranged. Get our honeymoon."

"Exactly, somewhere where no one can reach us," I continue.

"Says the one whose phone is still on our couch," He teases. Shrugging, I just smile, "We'll get something planned, don't worry."

"Good."

Taking his hand off my thigh, Christian turns down our street as we both take note of the car in our driveway, "Expecting someone?"

"No," I reply, "You?"

"No," He tells me, as we pull into the driveway. "Tyler get a new car?" Christian asks, noticing the empty vehicle with no one seemingly waiting around.

"Not that I know of. It could be Dylan's though," I guess. Tyler would be the only person with a key who's around right now. Lord knows that kid isn't above letting himself in anywhere.
