Jailyn~

"Well," I comment as I exit the bathroom, "I guess we're booking an appointment now." I flop myself face down onto our bed next to Christian's legs. This is so fucking annoying, I swear no one else has this much trouble for no fucking reason. We've had it proven there's nothing that should stop us from getting pregnant so why aren't we?

"So, I've got to wack one out into a cup again?" Christian asks making me pull my head up and look at him seeing how serious he was.

"So, I've got to have a needle shoved into my uterus and then something else shoved in again a few days later to hopefully end up having a parasite essentially in there for the next nine months before pushing an eight-pound basically watermelon out of my vagina?" I ask raising an eyebrow at him as if he was actually complaining about having to jerk it into a fucking cup.

"You win, I can shut up," Christian says laughing a little at the subtle little glare I've been giving him.

"Damn right I win," I comment under my breath making him laugh harder, "Should I make the call?"

Christian nods with a small smile handing me my phone from where I'd left it on my side of the bed. Unlocking it I head into my contacts and scroll until I find the contact for Dr.Terrell's office and hit the number to call it. I hit the speaker button and leave it on the bed between Christian and me as I prop myself up on my elbows while it rings.

"Thank you for calling Dr. Lisa Terrells office this is Gina, how can I help you today?" An incredibly perky receptionist answers.

"Hi Gina, this is Jailyn Yelich, I was wondering if you could connect me with Dr.Terrell please," I request in my equally as perky customer service voice. Christian gives me a little look not expecting that from me and I stick my tongue out at him as Gina replied.

"Sure thing, is it okay if I put you on hold a moment?"

"That's no problem, thank you," I reply as Christian stifles his laughter as if he's never heard me talk on the phone for shit before.

"I forget that you worked retail before you became a superstar olympian," Christian comments laughing.

"For only like three years," I reply, "Then I got that dead mom money." I shove my hand over my mouth trying not to laugh as I forgot to censor that bit of dark humor for him.

"Jesus Jai," Christian says tipping his head back laughing at just how dark the comment was even if it's true. Honestly, in the last nine years, I don't know that we actually ever had that conversation. How I paid for college, the time I went to college anyways, my apartment by myself, my Jeep, my share of our house even. He probably just assumed given he knew I didn't really make shit playing softball that first year but it wasn't ever talked about.

"Dr.Lisa Terrell," she says picking up the phone again.

"Hi Dr.Terrell, its Jailyn James-Yelich," I reintroduce so she knows what's up.

"Oh hey! How are you? What can I do for you today Mrs.Yelich?" I smile a little hearing her call me that.

"I'm good, I wanted to touch base and set up an appointment for Christian and I to go forward with the IVF. I just started my period again and I don't want to wait any longer to at least try it now that I'm still not pregnant," I explain as I look at Christian who just gives me a smile reassuring me almost that this is the right thing for us right now.

"Alright," Dr.Terrell replies, "How long does your typical menstrual cycle last?"

"Five-ish days, usually. Occasionally it will be shorter or longer."
