When Justyna Lubomirska takes matters into her own hands to try and find the missing Anneliese Tänzer after the deportation of her friend's son, she finds herself trapped in the armed resistance's plans. The Metanoia Army, watching from afar, slowly threatens to crush the perfect order of the Sunrise City. The secret lies in the words of the martyr Dessie O'Shaunnessey and his theory of metanoia, promised to one day unite the city.
This is a story of love and friendship, of loss and faith, of trauma and resilience. Most of all, it is the intimate story of resistance of those forgotten across a wall.
- It's a dystopian thriller set in a world where rich and poor have been completely separated and cut off from each other. It's somewhat similar to how modern Europe could get in a few years. I've really enjoyed reading the book, which doesn't get enough reads. (hrb264)
