Recuperation

Scene 1:
Aum is soaked in sweat, she scores a goal. Whistle blows, the game is over and Aum's team wins with a 3-2 score. She merrily runs around the court. The coach proudly walks up to her.
Coach: See, that's why I was calling you for practice. You'll definitely improve your skills a lot in just a few days.
Aum: Khop khun na. And sorry, I thought of skipping practice today. Actually my sister met with an accident yesterday and she is in the hospital. So,....
Coach: Oh is it? But, being a sportsperson you'll have to compromise with certain things but never compromise with your daily practice.
Aum: Kha! I'll be leaving then.
Coach waves at her. She says goodbye to her playmates and walks away.

Scene 2:
Kaning is waiting outside Maytee O' Gardens. Kavin arrives in a car.
Kavin: Did I make you wait for a long time?
Kaning shyly nods and smiles. Kavin gets down and opens the car door for her. Kaning gets on the car.
*Awkward silence*
Kavin: Did you say something?
Kaning: (*startled) Me? Mai dai!
Kavin: Uh, why would you? You don't even want to speak to me.
Kaning: It's nothing like that. It's just that (*Kavin sulks) Oiiii! (*Kaning hits him, Kavin smiles)
Kaning: By the way, how was your meeting today?
Kavin: It went well. We cracked the deal. Phaw was quite happy with my client dealing skills. (*bragging) After all, I'm impressive, you know that right?
Kaning: (*blabbers) Overconfident.
Kavin: Hoiii! Come again, I heard you just now. (*Kaning giggles)
Kavin and Kaning halt at a restaurant. They enter and order food. Kaning turns on her phone camera and clicks selfies. Kavin joins in.

Waitress brings hot noodles. Kavin and Kaning start eating.
Kaning: You told me last night you all were supposed to go to some party. What happened, didn't you all go?
Kavin: (*tensed) Uh, about that? (*Scratches his cheek)
Kaning: Why? Is something wrong? You look a bit under the weather today, are you all right?
Kavin: (*hesitantly) Actually, last night Ren drank a little too much and ended up crashing a woman's car.
Kaning: (*shocked) Is it? Is he all right? What about the woman?
Kavin: Ren is fine, MJ was with him in the car. But the girl...
Kaning: Is she all right?
Kavin: Well, externally she isn't injured a lot but due to an internal injury she has lost her voice temporarily and perhaps she might not be able to speak again.
Kaning: (*sympathetically) Poor girl! Did you enquire about her family?
Kavin: Yes, and unfortunately or maybe fortunately she's Aum Natnada's cousin.
Kaning: (*shocked) Aum? You mean the girl MJ likes?
Kavin: Krub.
Kaning: She must be very angry.
(*Kavin nods and looks stressed)
Kaning: (*places her hand on his hands) Will you take me to see her now? I wanna see her once.
Kavin: Now?
Kaning: Ummmm. Aren't you going there anyway?
Kavin: Yes, but you might feel distressed seeing her condition. Last night she woke up and seemed uncontrollable, I'm worried.
Kaning: It's okay, I will go and make her feel that she's not alone we are there for her whenever she needs us.
Kaning smiles assuringly. Kavin smiles back. They both get into the car.
Scene 3:
At Gorya's office,
Gorya is typing on the keyboard, she pauses to check her phone. Sees the lockscreen wallpaper, a beautiful picture of her and Thyme.
Gorya: (*mutters to herself) Why do I feel like Thyme was being strange today? He looks stressed. Ughhhh! Perhaps I'm overthinking, he must've felt embarassed in front of aunty and P'Tia.
(*Opens line messenger)

*Messages Thyme*
She initially writes: You looked a bit worried today, is everything all right? (*Deletes the text)
On text,
Gorya: Please take care of yourself. Missing you a lot! 😘😘😘
Scene 4:
At Thyme's office,
Thyme: (*standing up to leave) Mea, I'll leave for the hospital now, I think Ren and MJ should go home and change clothes, I can just release them for sometime.
Roselyn: Ummm, you go and release them, they must be tired already.
Tia: Take along a greeting card for her, she'll feel good.
(*Thyme nods, proceeds to leave)
Roselyn: Thyme, wait! I totally forgot to remind you, today business tycoon Mr. Thongthan is throwing a party for the return of his son from the US. Do you remember, he came to invite us last week?
Thyme: Oh yes! I had completely forgotten, Kavin, Ren and MJ must also have been invited.
Roselyn: Yes, and I feel you must go tonight because his son will be visiting our office next week for a deal which is very important for us and I want you to crack that deal at any cost.
Thyme: Ummm, I'll try. Let me talk with them first.
Roselyn: Not just try but make sure that the 4 of you go tonight. He's an important investor in all of our businesses. No compromises!
(*Thyme nods and walks away)
Scene 5:
Ren's almost done feeding the soup to Hazel. MJ gives him a burger. Ren sees it.
Ren: What is this now?
MJ: I went home to freshen up and on my way back, I got this burger for you.
(*Ren refuses to take)
MJ: Come on, you'll fall ill.
Ren gives a last spoon of soup to Hazel. She stops him and gestures him to eat.
MJ: Eat now, she's also saying. Otherwise, next you'll be the one needing a saline. (*He smiles)
Ren takes the burger.
MJ: (*enthusiastically) Shiaaa, I forgot to introduce myself. Hazel, I'm MJ and this crybaby right here is my brother-cum-bff Ren.
(*Hazel smiles feebly)
MJ: You must've already heard about me from Aum and you probably think I'm a bad guy, but let me make this clear, last night you needed blood donation because of excessive blood loss, so I was the one who volunteered and so I gave you my blood and with that virtue, since we are sharing the same blood, (*winks) we are brother and sister. Right Ren?
(*Ren glares at him and bites into the burger)
MJ cracks a joke. Hazel laughs hearing MJ's jokes. Ren too smiles seeing her.
MJ: (*to Ren) Hey Ren, you haven't taken a bath yet, you stinky bug! (*Scrunches his nose) I can smell your sweat even from such a great distance, Hazel must be feeling disgusted. Go home quickly and freshen up. Take my car. (*Throws the key at him, Ren catches it)
(*Ren looks at Hazel)
MJ: Don't worry, she is my responsibility now, since I'm her brother from now onwards, I'll take care of her, even if others don't. So you go.
Ren: Okay, okay, I'll be back in an hour. Take care eh!
(*Ren walks out)
Scene 6:
Thyme is in his car. He reads Gorya's message.
(*He proceeds to text her back)
He writes: I have to tell you something. Last night...(*removes the text)
Messages: Miss you too! Love you a lot!❤️
Thyme: (*thinks) Probably, she's busy and enjoying her work, if I'll tell her about last night's incident, she'll be disturbed. And I know my Gorya, she'll come back at once to check on that girl. This is not the right time to tell her, I'll better let her know after she comes back. Till then, probably that girl will also recover.(*Agrees to his own idea)
