Pt 15

I wake up alone in dads bed hearing 40's music being played downstairs.
I rush down to see that Steve is still home! Doesn't seem like him and dad are talking.

"Hey pops. You're still home!" I smile and he makes a face

"Not for long Kid. He's leaving us while there's a terrorist threatening our country" dad says while reading the news

"Oh okay" I frown and steve shakes his head silently

We eat breakfast in silence also. Only the hum of piano playing.
Soon enough pops is grabbing his things to leave.

"Leaving already" I say a little bummed

"Sorry pumpkin. I have to" he sighs leaning down to hug me right

"Tell me when you're coming back next time" I say

"I will. Take care of him. Please" Steve says with another sigh

"Yep." I say confidently

I watch him drive off.
I watch Icarly for a bit until dad gets tired of it.

"Come on" he sighs

"Where to?" I ask grabbing my phone

"Malibu. Let's visit Rhodey" he says

"Yay Rhodey!" I smile

"And ready for it best part!" He says smiling at me

"What is it!" I exclaim

"Happy is coming too!" He opens his mouth excitedly

"Awesome!"

We get on the private jet with happy.

"So boss what's your thoughts on the mandarin" happy sighs

"Uh. I don't really know what to think" dad tenses up

"I think it's good to get away from the tower for a bit boss." Happy nods

"Yeah I hope" dad sighs.

I sleep the rest of the flight and wake up when we land.
I get off the jet to see Rhodey and pepper

"Uncle Rhodey!" I smile hugging him

"Heyy my favorite niece" he smiles

I say hi to pepper and then we make our way to the mansion.
Dads been pretty on edge all day. I hope he actually sleeps tonight.

We take the day to chill out around the house. Dads wearing his comfy sweatpants so I put mine on too.
I go downstairs to grab some late lunch when I hear dad on the phone.

"Yeah don't worry about it Steve we're okay. I took us to Malibu. I feel a little better here" he sighs

"Yeah yeah. I promise I'll stay in touch" dad says aggravated

"Love you later bye" he says quickly before ending the call

I walk into the kitchen and see him run a hand through his hair
I go to his side and wrap my arms around him. He jumps a little but then rubs my back lovingly.

"I'm gonna go out for just a little bit okay?" He says looking down at me

"Okay. Don't be long I'm gonna make Mac and cheese!" I say making him chuckle

"Oh god don't set the house on fire" he smiles

He leaves an it's just me.
I decide to turn on the tv and watch a movie. As I queue up a movie.
I end up falling asleep on the couch. I wake up to the smell of Mac and cheese.
