Eddy walked into the staff room and noticed a lot of colour red.
A large number of teachers were wearing red clothing... in a form of a dress, blouse, a polo shirt, even a dress shirt, like Eddy.
"Wow, Eddy, nice shirt. Happy Lunar New Year."
Eddy turned around and saw Brett in a red polo shirt.
"Hey, Happy Lunar New Year, Brett."
Brett grinned.
"Here, this is for you."
Brett gave Eddy a little red envelope.
"For me? Are you for real? I can't accept this."
"Why not? You're single and younger than me."
"But I work!"
"Oooh, is that how it works in the Chen family? Oh well, please indulge me just for this one day of the year Eddy. According to our family, I should be giving you an envelope. You're the only one younger than me among the staff, remember ?"
Eddy smiled.
"Thanks, Brett, this is very sweet."
Eddy opened the little envelope and found a chocolate coin wrapped in gold foil inside.
Eddy grinned.
"Thank you, uncle Brett. Shall I play you the violin now?"
Brett burst out laughing.
"Yeah, that sounds about right. Come and play the violin for your favourite uncle.!!!"
The bell rang for roll call. The two teachers waved at each other as they parted to their classrooms.
