With Aster officially back from the dead and better than ever, he made his return to the Chan Clan. Jade and Jackie were both thrilled to have him back. Uncle just scolded Aster for scaring them. Tohru and Captain Black welcomed him back.
And Lo Pei acted indifferent. Though he was fascinated by how much Aster's 'chi' had grown since coming back to life. Apparently Chi was a nickname for life force. And Lo Pei's scroll magic used Good Chi to activate it. Aster's chi had practically tripled since coming back to life, likely because he'd unlocked his Butterfly Form.
Which meant Lo Pei was more willing to teach him how to use his version of magic. The first couple of lessons were just Lo Pei teaching Aster how to sense his own Chi, so he could eventually learn to control it.
Right now, he was taking a break from lessons with Lo Pei to hang out with the Chans in Uncle's shop. Tohru came over with some tea that Uncle had ordered him to make.
"The tea is ready." - Tohru
"It is about time!" - Uncle
He said, upsetting the already grim looking Tohru. He walked away with a look of dejection. Jade tried to cheer him up by talking about a Chinese cultural expo happening tomorrow, but he didn't seem very interested.
"Something wrong?" - Jade
She asked with concern.
"Forgetting tea is what's wrong! This is a pot of water! No tea!" - Uncle
He was about to go on a whole rant until Aster waved his hand, placing a silencing spell over Uncle.
"He really needs to treat people better..." - A
He said as Jackie mumbled a quiet 'thank you'. Aster and Jade followed Tohru into the kitchen, where he began trying to make the tea.
"You okay, big guy?" - A
He asked, and Tohru just grumbled.
"It's...my mother..." - Tohru
He admitted.
"You have a mom?!" - Jade
She acted surprised.
"She's arriving tomorrow from Japan tomorrow to attend the expo..." - Tohru
"Aaand? What's so bad about that?" - Jade
She asked while sitting on the kitchen counter.
"I'm...a bit of a black sheep. All I've ever wanted was for my mother to be proud of me...you wouldn't understand. My mother is very hard to please." - Tohru
He said in a monotone voice as he finished getting all the tea ingredients. Aster used some magic to heat it up.
"My mom is pretty similar. She's got high standards. But she never expects the impossible. Whatever your mom throws at us-" - A
"The J-Team can handle it!" - J
"...the what?" - Tohru
He asked in confusion as they headed back to Uncle's study to give him the tea.
"The J-Team! Us three, plus Jackie, Uncle, Black, Gnome Cop, Viper, El Toro, and maaaybe Pako." - J
"Viper is still on the run, Toro doesn't have the Ox Talisman anymore, Pako is a kid, and Gnome Cop is a toy." - A
He corrected her.
"He doesn't have to be a toy..." - Jade
She said while wiggling her eyebrows at Aster, knowing his magic was much stronger than before. He could definitely give Gnome Cop some powers if he wanted to.
