Aster, Jade, and Jackie were exploring a temple in Mexico. Aster had created multiple balls of light to illuminate the way while Jackie examined the inscriptions in the walls.
"Fascinating!" - JC
"Ugh, this is boring! What kind of lame pyramid is this? There's no mummies or curses anywhere!" - J
"And that's a bad thing? Sometimes Jackie should get to enjoy being a regular archeologist." - A
Jade rolled her eyes. Jade was thirteen now, and Aster noticed she'd started to sass him more than usual lately.
'Is she gonna go through a rebellious phase?' - A
He wondered while Jackie opened up a door, revealing a black panther inside. It woke up from its nap and charged at them.
"Bad kitty!" - A
He used magic to conjure an illusion of Shendu, scaring the cat into submission.
"...oh...that worked...a lot better than I expected." - A
He tried to pet the panther, which accepted his touch after a few attempts.
"Aww, Jackie! Can we keep it?" - J
"Now, Jade. Pets are a big responsibility. You should start small, with a smaller cat." - JC
"I can do that." - A
He cleared his throat and began to chant in Chinese, making his first attempt at an actual Chi spell. His Chi began to flow outwards and towards the black panther, shrinking it down to the size of a kitten. Jade picked him up.
"I love it!" - JC
She hugged the panther, who began to purr. Jackie pulled Aster aside.
"Are you really sure she can handle it?" - JC
"She's your niece, so it's ultimately your choice. However, she'll have plenty of help in raising it. She's got that squid bot and Gnome Cop to help her." - A
Jackie thought about it before returning to talk to Jade, where she was waiting with puppy dog eyes.
"You can keep it." - JC
He said reluctantly, to which she cheered.
"But if i step into even one piece of the panther's poop, it's back to the jungle!" - JC
"You wont regret this!" - J
She hugged both Jackie and Aster. Aster chuckled a little and pet her head.

On their way down from the pyramid, Jackie got a call from El Toro. Apparently he needed help to get rid of the Chupacabra, and had discovered ancient tablets which foretold of a method to deal with it for good.
Jackie happily agreed, since Toro was his friend. And Jackie would never pass up the chance to translate something.

Aster, Jackie, Jade and now Jade's pet panther were all waiting in the plaza where they'd initially met El Toro and fought the ShadowKhan. A fancy red car pulled up and Pako came out from one of the doors.
"Hola! Long time no see. It's good to see you, Senorita Jade." - Pako
He kissed Jade's cheek, making Jade look...shocked. El Toro was in the driver's seat.
"We must hurry. We have to prepare to battle the Chupacabra." - Toro
"But I thought you only needed me to translate the tablets?" - JC
