Aster was walking through the hall of Butterfly Castle, listening to Ivy list off the various meetings he'd have to attend in the following weeks. While passing a window, he got a view of Marco, Lightning, and Thunder bathing their dragons...shirtless...and wet...

"...sir, are you okay? Your nose is bleeding." - Ivy

She pointed out in concern.

"...I'm fine. I just need to make a call." - A

He said as he promptly super sped away from the window and into his room. He spent the next hour screaming into a pillow over the fact he still had feelings for Marco. They weren't as strong as before, but they just wouldn't leave.

It's like he was cursed or something!...

'...wait a minute.' - A

His head shop up as he immediately went to his magic mirror and called Tom.

"Hey!" - T

"Hi. So, remember when we went to the Blood Moon Ball together? Was the whole soul bonding thing real?" - A

"Uh, yeah...I completely forgot about that. Why?" - T

Aster explained what was happening, and how he kept having feelings for a straight guy he could never be with. And no matter how much time he dedicated to moving on, the feelings always came back.

"Oh, man...I am, so sorry...look, the Blood Moon Ball is actually called the Blood Moon Curse. The curse chooses two souls to be eternally bound. I wanted it to be us, but..." - T

"It chose and Marco instead..." - A

He said in understanding. Though it was still confusing. He didn't know if his feelings for Marco were real or not anymore.

"How do we break it?" - A

He asked with a determined voice.

"Well, my grandpa Relicor might know something. But he'll never talk with us about it. So you should grab Marco and meet me at Lucitor Castle." - T

Aster nodded.

Aster, Marco, Tom, and Janna were in Relicor's study. Janna was admiring the demonic architecture and furniture because...Janna. Aster was more curious about the books and Marco was using Relicor's computer to find what they needed

"It says that moon curses are easily broken. 'The accursed simply needs to stand in the exact spot where the curse was placed at the exact same cycle in the lunar calendar. And when the moon hits its apex, the curse shall be removed.'" - M

He read out loud.

"Okay, sounds simple enough..." - A

"Yeah, but the next Blood moon is six hundred and sixty five years from now." - T

"...fuck." - A

He sighed.

'...I wonder...' - A

He used SkyWin's time skip spell to skip ahead an hour. Yes, it was an hour he'd never get back...but he really wanted to break this curse. Plus he was immortal, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

When Aster regained consciousness, he was in one of the deepest layers of the underworld, standing in front of a beautiful crystal thing with Janna, Tom, Marco, and Relicor. Apparently Relicor had guided them to the Severing Stone.

A stone capable of cutting anything. From the physical to the emotional to the magical. Relicor chanted something, causing the Severing Stone to change colors. The two then seemed to start having...a conversation? Relicor then screeched at Tom.

"He says the Severing Stone is asking why we're here." - T

"We wish to cut the connection between our souls, which were bound together by the Blood Moon Curse." - A

He explained as he and Marco stepped forward. The translations continued.

"He says that'll be easy! Just hop up on the stage." - T

The two went to step up but then Relicor got on stage first, said something to the Severing Stone, it responded, and then he began to cry.

'...what the fuck.' - A

Tom checked on his grandpa.

"Relicor says he came to the Severing Stone once before, thousands of years ago. Because he wanted to sever his connection with my grandma. But to do so, he had to sacrifice the memory of the moment they fell in love. Now he can never have the memory back, and he's regretted it ever since. The Stone says the severing is permanent. But that's what we want, right?" - T

"...yeah. This needs to happen." - A

He said, looking at Marco.

"Ready?" - A

"Ready." - M

The two held hands as they walked up to the stage. They began to dance the way they did the night of the Blood Moon, and the Stone glowed as the scenery around them changed so it was like they were back to the night.

The music, the lights, the people, even their outfits. Everything was the same. The two smiled at each other in slight amazement as the light of the blood moon focused on them, and they began their final dance.

"You know, you looked amazing in that mask." - A

He complimented.

"This thing? I found it in my dad's closet." - M

"It's a good look on you." - A

He said genuinely.

"Where did you learn to dance like this?" - A

"I didn't. I'm just...going with the flow." - M

Aster laughed a little.

"Yeah...you used to have panic attacks over breaking rules. Then you started a rebellion, got stuck in another dimension, began a new life in another dimension..." - A

He took a deep breath as he prepared himself for what he was about to say.

"I love you, Marco...in every way a person can love someone else. I love how anxious you get when you can't find your tooth brush. I love your weird jokes that only I get. I love how you organize every little thing. I love how you laugh. I love how you think. I love how, despite everything that's happened, you've stayed by my side." - A

Marco didn't respond, and only stared in sad silence. He loved Aster. Just...not like that....what could he possibly say to make him feel better?...

"It's okay, I already know. It's not our faults that we weren't meant to be together...I'm just happy that I got to love you at all." - A

Marco smiled as the two silently danced. Their relationship had gone beyond words, and they had an even deeper understanding of each other. But eventually, like all things, their final dance came to an end, as the Blood Moon's light faded...

Aster and Marco were back. The Severing Stone had done its job. Relicor screeched.

"He says, it's done." - T

"Seriously? They turned around once and then that was it." - Janna

She said, expecting a bigger show than that.

"Sorry to disappoint, but all that happened was-...was...I can't remember." - A

He said, unable to recall what exactly happened at the Blood Moon Ball.

"Me either..." - M

He and Aster looked at each other.

"...wanna get nachos?" - A

"Love to." - M

They smiled as Aster opened up a portal home, and then another one for Tom and his grandpa to go home. Marco and Aster still had feelings for each other. Except now, it was purely platonic. No more pain, no more unintended heart breaks. Now they were...

Just friends.
