day 1

(Y/n) was pleased with herself for finding a route from her bedroom to the dining room. She was sure there was a more direct way to reach it but she hardly got lost which was good progress from the beginning of the day. Searching for Eli earlier really helped her gauge a better understanding of the layout of the house.

She walked into the large yet simple dining room to see that only two of the nine seats were occupied. Bella had sat herself at the head of the table with Max sitting next to her.

Max had made dinner with his meal having about as much effort as Angelo's did. On each plate were two pieces of bread and he'd placed various food items that could go in a sandwich around the table.

"Where's everyone else?" (Y/n) asked as she went to take the other seat next to Bella and thus opposite Max.

Max shrugged unknowingly. "Haven't seen any of them since we played cards."

"I'm not retrieving anyone this time." (Y/n) said adamantly.

"This house is impossible." Angelo remarked as he stumbled into the dining hall. "Poor turnout, huh?" He looked over the empty seats and took the one next to Max.

"We don't know where the rest are." Bella stated, her dark eyes following Angelo's rugged form carefully.

"Eh, I'm not complaining." Angelo ruffled up his dark hair and started to fill up his sandwich.

Bella smiled in satisfaction. "You don't like them either?"

(Y/n) rolled her eyes at Bella's insistence on trying to create links that didn't exist.

"What...? I don't know any of 'em, I don't know you guys either. I'm just saying I don't care that they're not here." Angelo's black hair seemed to bounce as he nodded his head with each word.

"I agree with what (Y/n) said earlier today, us four need to have each other's backs." Bella restated.

Max sighed. "Sure, whatever we need to do to get out of here."

"I was pondering earlier if this scenario had been played out in the past or if this is the Gamemaster's first game... If we could get some clues to people previously being here then it could give us a good idea of what to do." Bella theorised.

Angelo leaned over the table and spoke with a hushed tone. "Stop talking like that, the Gamemaster's always listening." He then sat back and looked around, he waved his middle fingers around making sure to hit every angle. "You hear that, asshole? I'm onto you!"

Bella scoffed at Angelo's actions. "It doesn't matter if the Gamemaster can hear us, I don't particularly care."

"What if he kills us or something." Angelo kept looking around, trying to spot a camera.

"Don't even suggest that." Max shuddered. "We're going to get out of here. I mean if people were here before us then they're not here now so that means they went home, right?"

(Y/n) winced slightly at Max's assumption.

"Or... You know, the inevitable happened." Angelo spoke rather carelessly for someone suggesting the death of themself or those around them.

Max clapped his hand over his ears and shook his head furiously.

"At the end of the day, we don't really know what's going to happen to us or why we're here." (Y/n) said in an attempt to maybe cheer Max up a bit.

"It's pretty easy to guess that the Gamemaster doesn't have good intentions for us." Bella was clinical in her approach to dealing with Max's sadness.
