day 87

(Y/n) was sat up at the counter that morning. It was sort of unspoken yet understood between everyone that the obligation to attend meals together had gone out of the window.

Owen was busy making her breakfast, he had left (Y/n) alone the day before in order to allow her to sort of have the opportunity to breathe. He hoped that would put him in her favor anyway.

She was very aware of the fact that everything that was being done was in order to gain brownie points with her, but then again when had it not been?

"Any preference for what you want in your omelette?" He asked while mixing the raw eggs together.

(Y/n) shrugged kicked her legs out. "Surprise me."

He smiled and went to the pantry to take a few toppings out that he knew (Y/n) would like. "I'm guessing you probably don't want to talk about yesterday?" He mentioned.

Owen had the unique ability to be the most normal and yet abnormal one of them at the same time. It was from years of practice of having to pretend not to have murderous intent when around his parents, doctors, friends and pretty much everyone.

(Y/n) knew that if she chose him that was the only way she could really feel... Normal. Owen had the same urges as the others and viewed (Y/n) and his attraction to her in much the same way but akin to how he addressed his desire to kill those who believed deserved it he could hold that part of himself back.

His desire was sated far more easily and as long as (Y/n) was compliant and loving as she had been for some time now and intended to be in the future then Owen would hold back on particularly possessive tendancies.

For Tim and Dottie it didn't much matter whether (Y/n) loved them or not, they would still be just the same with her. Hana was new to love and would never really understood how a relationship was supposed to operate, (Y/n) understood very well that Hana wanted her to be free but could also tell that it wasn't as simple as just that. Eli was far more clingy and insecure than he would like people to believe and (Y/n) was sure that if she chose him then there would hardly be a moment detached from his side.

Owen was her only hope at normalcy... Slight normalcy... Staged normalcy?

He could hide his obsession if needed without turning cold. (Y/n) had wished for a normal and functional relationship and even if she could never achieve that maybe it was only Owen who could temporarily make her feel like this was what she really wanted all along.

But as (Y/n) thought about it the more she came to terms with how badly her head had been fucked over by this... By them. The idea of being normal, of being in a non-obsessive relationship where you have other things going on in your life, had become dreadfully unappealing.

The love she'd been shown in her time here was firey, relentless and violent. It was a love the burned up everything around it so she couldn't help but make it the centre of her life.

Maybe she didn't want to be normal, or have a normal partner. Maybe she wanted the insanity of someone wanting her that badly.

Owen could provide that even if he kept it further under wraps, they could all provide it and that was the trouble.

For all their differences when it came to weighing one against another they were the exact fucking same.
