day 59

In the early hours of the morning Hana left the basement after giving some food to Bella. The house was still shrouded in the darkness that came with the nighttime.

She breathed out sharply through her nose, the past two days had been painful to say the least. (Y/n) was still stuck up in her room and would hardly talk to any of them when they came to see her of give her food. Hana didn't want to direct her frustrations at (Y/n) but she couldn't help it, Hana was being nothing but kind and hospitable and she could admit that the others were treating (Y/n) well too but she wouldn't give anyone the time of day.

Bella had been subjected to some ranting from Hana so the white haired woman now just wanted to sleep to prepare herself for the day ahead.

As she walked through the halls Hana suddenly heard some shuffling in another room. She froze.

There was someone else down there. No one else should be awake at this ungodly hour.

Hana slipped back though a set of doors to get closer to the noise, she stayed silent as ever as she went to seek out whoever it was.

Once in the living room, Hana peeked through the ajar door to see around three indiscernible figures dressed in black. She could just about make out guns on theirs belts which made Hana'a breathing all the more shallow. They had a small box with them and then she knew that they were people working for the Gamemaster.

A sudden urge overwhelmed Hana and told her to grab (Y/n) and to get on the boat that the workers had undoubtedly docked on the jetty. But she also knew that both her and (Y/n) would be shot before they'd even reach the front door. Just the thought of (Y/n) suffering such a fate was enough to bring a sickly feeling to Hana's stomach.

She decided it was best to go to her room instead of risking getting spotted, she knew the Gamemaster could see her but so long as she didn't interfere then she'd be in the clear.

Tim was in the kitchen that morning making some breakfast to give to (Y/n). He was making some pancakes since he remembered her liking the ones that Dottie made way back when they were first here.

As he continued to mix the batter an urgent finger tapped his shoulder. "Yes?" He turned to see Hana trying to get his attention.

"We had a delivery last night." She stated.

"It hasn't been a week since our last though." Tim stopped whisking and frowned. Hana lifted up the box that had been left.

"It's not a whole package, just this."

He let go of the whisk and took the box from Hana, it wasn't locked but Tim wasn't quite sure if he even wanted to open it. "Gather Owen, Dottie and Eli. After I've given (Y/n) her breakfast we can open this and take our next steps depending on what's inside."

Hana nodded and left Tim to continue making the pancake batter.

It was around an hour later when (Y/n) had finished her food that they were all in the living room. Tim had insisted on staying to see her eat since he didn't trust her not to discard the food, she actually didn't put up much fuss when eating which was a relief but she didn't really do much at all. Nothing but short one word answers would leave her lips and Tim would count himself lucky if his kitten would even look vaguely in his direction. They were letting her off for the time being since it had only been a few days and an adjustment period was important. But make no mistake, an attitude like this wouldn't be accepted for long and if she didn't shape up her act soon then things wouldn't be as nice for (Y/n) as they were.
