day 99

The ceiling seemed to be (Y/n) closest confidant lately, this night was no exception.

She felt like her throat was closing, it was her final night here. Who knows what would happen tomorrow? (Y/n) choked on a sob and covered her face.

She rolled over and used her pillow to muffle her scream, not that it even mattered in a soundproof room.

How did her life become this? How did her life, emotions and thoughts become nothing more than malleable pieces of putty in the Gamemaster's hands?

(Y/n) may not see four out of her five remaining housemates ever again... God, it wasn't anything about the reality not having set in, (Y/n) knew the reality very well but it was more understanding what came next.

This wasn't a game that one could just play, win and move on. The only person who won was the Gamemaster, and maybe whoever (Y/n) chose at a stretch. But she definitely lost... Angelo, Max and Bella had already fallen short and four more would join them.

This was a game that was going to either end or totally alter the lives of the players forever. (Y/n) supposed she should count herself lucky that she was the only player without a confirmed death, that was the irony of it: the only person who had wanted to die was now the only one who would surely live on.

She felt selfish breathing in that moment.

Even if (Y/n) wasn't as suicidal anymore her instinct to get out of this was still to kill herself. If she wasn't alive then she couldn't make the decision. But she knew that would probably mean that they most probably all die in that case, at least this was saving herself and one of them.

She wasn't expecting to sleep that night, but crying as violently as she was could really take it out of someone, exhaustion had swept over (Y/n).

Her dreams acted as a partial escape that night but the upcoming choice she'd have to make was catching up and by morning came... It was all over.

Dottie had the sort of excitement running through her that a child would have an the night of Christmas Eve.

Tomorrow everything would be perfect for her and (Y/n), she was sure of it.

Absolutely perfect... Just the two of them.

Any hints of doubt that would creep into her mind were swatted away quickly by the overwhelming positivity that Dottie's heart was swimming in.

Her body was practically vibrating with the joy she felt, Dottie couldn't possibly lay still and was sure to dream of her future with (Y/n).

Dreaming about it would do her good... Especially if it wasn't sure to come.

'She'll pick me.' Owen thought with a slight frown on his tired face.

'She has to... She's... She's mine, (Y/n) knows that... If she tries to pick someone else I-I won't let her... It has to be her and me... Only me.' He squeezed his pillow tightly like it was a stress ball. 'She's fucking MINE, she always has been.'
