day 43

(Y/n) felt strange that morning. It was another meeting for the whole household and she was sat next to Owen.

They hadn't further discussed what happened last night, between her opening up about her past and their kiss. She had sat herself down next to him, not intending to follow up on either of these things.

(Y/n) was so in her head and she didn't know what she wanted, this was the third person in the house that she kissed and she couldn't say for sure what any of them meant.

But that wasn't the only reason she felt strange. It felt like she was being watched... Well, she always felt that way with the cameras but she was much more aware of it now. She'd sometimes catch one of the other players looking at her and then when she'd look to them they'd either look away or give her some sympathetic smile.

They had just finished unpacking the main box, it was a grim reminder that it had only been a week since Angelo and Bella had their disagreement and this whole thing started.

Inside the box were more locked boxes identical to the one (Y/n) had received, there were seven of them each with a name on the top.

"This shit? Really?" Eli grumbled while looking over his box.

"How do we open it?" Max fiddled with the lock that prevented the lid from being opened, his green eyes portraying confusion.

"When (Y/n) received a box there was a key in her room." Tim remarked. "Perhaps we-"

They were accustomed to the sound of a bell that signified a new message from the Gamemaster.

A key to open your box is found in your respective bedroom. The box's contents are not to be shared among the group.

(Y/n) puffed her cheeks out and released some air. "Oh no..."

The players headed up to their rooms shortly after but as (Y/n) was going she felt a hand clasp her wrist.

"I know you can't tell me what's inside but... If you're upset in any way then you come and find me, got it?" Owen said seriously, his grip was firm but he was only strict with her out of love.

(Y/n) nodded silently, this box felt lighter than the other one but she didn't imagine her reaction being as bad. She already knew that the Gamemaster knew about her attempt and was expecting it this time.

When Tim walked into his room he could already see the message on his screen telling him the location of the key.

Part of him felt some excitement for what his box could contain. The Gamemaster had been gracious enough to gift them with a pistol so maybe he'd give them some other advantage.

He retrieved the small silver key from where it had been placed, it reflected under the light like a knife in a horror movie.

Tim sat down with the box before opening it up, thinking up all of the things it could possibly contain.

Imagine his disappointment when he pulled out a wrinkled notebook. He recognised it to be one of the diaries from his youth, its pages had gone soft from being put in a repeatedly flushing toilet.
