day 49

Over the past few days an arrangement had been in the works for another subtle bid at separating Max from (Y/n). It was nothing too sinister just a day where the house was splitting off into girls and guys.

There were some, namely Owen and Eli, who weren't on board with this at first but Tim trusted Hana to prevent Dottie from making any moves on (Y/n).

The last days had also seen some improvement in Owen's friendship with (Y/n). She hadn't verbally forgiven him yet but with some convincing from Max she could talk to him again.

The women were in (Y/n)'s room, all of them sat on the bed as Dottie delicately painted (Y/n)'s nails and Hana brushed (Y/n)'s (h/c) hair.

"It's really nice that we're doing this." (Y/n) commented. "I never really had girlfriends to do stuff like this with."

Dottie smiled warmly but kept her eyes on (Y/n)'s hand. She was secretly glad that (Y/n) didn't have much to miss about her past life.

"Neither." Hana related to (Y/n) in not having girls (or boys) to hang out with in her childhood or even in her adult life. She wasn't going to mention that she wasn't thrilled with Dottie being there.

"You know, I've only known all of you for what? A month? Two? But I feel like it's been forever."

"Exactly!" Dottie beamed, she knew she wasn't the only one out of the two of them who knew that they were destined for one another. "How long have we been here anyway?"

"I don't-"

"Forty-eight days." Hana cut in.

Dottie paused her painting as (Y/n) shifted slightly so she could face Hana.

"I've been keeping count." Hana said nonchalantly as both women looked at her questioningly. "It's day forty-nine today."

"Wow..." (Y/n) sighed and turned back around so Hana could run the brush over her hair again. "Imagine if we're here over a year... I mean, we probably will be but that's... Insane to think about."

"It must be mid-October by now." Dottie said and resumed her careful work on (Y/n)'s nails.

"It is... I worked out that my birthday's on day fifty-five." Hana continued.

(Y/n) gasped happily. "Your birthday? You should have told us! Now we need to have a party or something for you."

"That's unnecessary." Hana said as she smiled shyly, but this smile went unseen by both (Y/n) and Dottie.

"Yeah. If Hana doesn't want a party then don't give her one." Dottie remarked, her purple eyes displayed bitterness and jealousy. Half of her wanted to claim it was her birthday tomorrow just to get some attention but she moreso wanted to celebrate her real birthday with (Y/n).

"We've got to! We need to do things that keep us happy... Otherwise we'll all go crazy." (Y/n) said with a dry laugh.

The silence that followed wasn't exactly an awkward one for Hana or Dottie, they just focused on their self assigned tasks. Meanwhile (Y/n) felt the air thicken around her and prayed someone would say something.
