day 33

(Y/n) walked into the kitchen late that morning and saw Max and Tim standing around. Tim was flicking through a book while Max ate some cereal, the latter smiled when he saw (Y/n).

"Well, well, well, I believe this is the first day that you haven't been last to get up, Miss (L/n)." Max teased her. "Congratulations."

"Is it that early?" (Y/n) chuckled, momentarily proud of herself before that pride was shattered.

"It's your usual time but it just seems like Angelo is laying in." Tim answered, placing his book down. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yep." She popped the 'p' at the end. "Angelo stayed up pretty late last night, huh?"

"I didn't even see him go up to his room, he must have been one of the last ones." Max commented.

"Good for him, I wish I could have that much energy." (Y/n) took an apple out of the fruit bowl and threw it from one hand to the other.

Tim watched carefully as Max and (Y/n) continued to converse, they didn't seem all that worried about Angelo's whereabouts so he thought it was a good idea to orchestrate a little run in soon.

"I should go check on Angelo, he's not usually asleep this long." Tim announced casually so he didn't display any red flags. Max and (Y/n) didn't seem to think much of it and just waved him off.

Tim of course knew very well that Angelo's room would be empty and that he wasn't asleep, he was rotting in the shallow water but he needed to make it seem as though he knew nothing of this.

He just waited at the top of the stairs for a minute and mentally prepared himself for the amount of lying he was going to have to do. Pretending to mourn Angelo was going to be such an energy sapping business but the performance was required.

Tim was expecting to feel worse about the death, but he didn't feel even a shred of remorse. He didn't think he was that unstable, he had thought he'd at least feel a tiny bit bad. Or at least bad enough that he could still feel like a good person.

Once getting back down to the kitchen he saw that Max and (Y/n) were still talking, the conversation having moved on from Angelo.

"He wasn't in his room." Tim frowned and scratched the top of his head.

"Oh... And no one's seen him?" (Y/n) matched his expression, suddenly concerned water Angelo's whereabouts.

"No one."

"I'm gonna check the living room, he's probably just hanging around somewhere." Max left, trying not to show his own growing worries.

"Do you think we should look for him..? Or am I overreacting?" (Y/n) fretted over what to do, she didn't want to get anxious over something unimportant but if he wasn't in his room then where was he?

"It can't hurt to look." Tim remarked. "You check down here, I'll start upstairs?"

(Y/n) nodded and her first move was to go to the front door and check the beach. Tim saw this and smiled in satisfaction.
