"Hey," someone said as they shook me, "the bell just rung." I slowly sat up and rubbed my eyes. I blinked a few times before I finally opened them. I was expecting to see someone in front of me, but there was no one. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and rubbed my eyes again, but still there was no one there. Was I dreaming?

"I could've sworn," I said as I scratched the back of my neck.

"You could've sworn what?" My head snapped beside me, and as I looked up I was met with Ba Wei. I knew I heard something.

"Nothing," I sad softly. Of course he would be beside me if I didn't look over there. I looked down at my watch and leaned back against the railing. I was still a bit sleepy, and even though lunch was over; I had no intention of heading to class. I was about to close my eyes again, but was nudged by the boy beside me.

"Did you hear me earlier. Lunch is over."

"And?"

"Don't you want to get to class?"

I closed my eyes, "If I wanted to, I would've gotten up already."

He didn't say anything after that, and I was thankful for that. I wanted to go back to sleep, but the longer I sat there; the harder it was. In the end I just opened my eyes and sat up. I looked over at Ba Wei to see that he was just staring into space. He looked calm as he stared out onto the busy city. I was just about to shift my eyes when he turned towards me. Our eyes instantly met, and I could feel my cheeks began to heat up. A smirk crept its way onto his lips, and I shifted my eyes as fast as possible.

He chuckled, "Your hair looks nice."

"Huh?"

"Your hair," he pointed, "it looked nice like that." My already burning face, seemed to get even more hot as he complemented me. Calm down. It's just a compliment. It's just Ba Wei.

I touched the ends of my hair with my fingers, "thanks,"

"no problem," he said as he took a seat beside me. We didn't say anything after that and just enjoyed the silence. The sky was still as cloudy as it was when I had fell asleep, and by the state of the wind; it would definitely rain sometime today. I was hoping it would because I loved the rain. I loved how somber the city became. I loved the melancholic mood that drenched the city as the rain stuck it. I glanced over at Ba Wei and I remembered the day before. I should probably apologize since I had lashed out at him for no reason.

"Um, about yesterday," I started.

"What about it," he said not looking in my direction. His voice was cold, and for some reason it made me uncomfortable.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to be so harsh." He was silent for a second before he spoke.

"Don't worry about it." Even though he said that, thinking back on how rude I was made me uneasy.

"I was really rude, and I don't want to come off as rude to you." His head snapped in my direction and he smiled.

"Calm down. I told you not to worry about it," he said as he reached out and pinched the tip of my nose. I was taken aback by the sudden gesture, and as if like clockwork my face turned the shade of a tomato. The smile on his face grew even bigger making his eyes squint slightly. So cute. My face got even hotter, and I shifted my eyes to try to get out of harms way. "It's so easy make your face turn that color."

"Don't make fun of me," I said lowly as I squeezed my eyes shut. I felt a nudge on my arm, and it was followed by a deep chuckle.

"I'm not making fun of you." I opened my eyes and looked over at him. As his dark eyes met mine, I felt a strong urge to look away again. "Don't be so sensitive."

"I'm not sensitive," I shot back. He didn't do anything but laugh at my response, and I couldn't help but join in. "You're such dick you know that," I laughed out. He just laughed harder, and so did I. We laughed for what seemed like forever before we finally subsided into silence.

"What happened with that girl," Ba Wei asked suddenly?

"What girl," I asked as I looked up at the sky?

"That girl that use to follow you around."

"Ah her," I glanced at him, "nothing happened."

"Really? I wonder what that rumor is about then." I raised an eyebrow at the mention of a rumor. I know that Yaling had been telling Cai Long anything but the truth, but she wouldn't tell that to the whole school. Would she?

"What is the rumor?"

"Well, what's going around is that you hit it and quit it." I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurd rumor. I wouldn't ever touch that girl, even if I wanted sex. I would look for anyone else but her.

"Where there goes my reputation."

"I wonder who put that rumor out there?"

"Probably Yaling or one of her minions, but who cares. I know I didn't touch her."

"She's crazy if she did."

"I wouldn't put it pass her," I said as I shrugged, "she's been getting more annoying lately."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know. She's just been being more weird. She doesn't like me hanging around you I know that for sure."

He chuckled, "why? let me guess. Is it because I'm in a gang or something."

I looked over at him, "yeah. I told her its not my business what you get up to nor is it hers to pry." He didn't say anything, and I didn't either. I looked at the ground, and just let my mind wander. I didn't think about anything in particular. I was thinking about random things when Ba Wei finally spoke.

"You know what she said is true. I am apart of a gang, but not in the way you think."

"I don't care, " I looked him in the eye. "Your background will never be a reason for me to dislike you."

"Thanks." His voice was low and to my surprise, gentle.

I flashed a smile at him, "you shouldn't have to thank me. It's what friends do."

"Yeah."
