When I made my way back to the living room Ba Wei was standing in front of the Tv with his back to me on the phone. Once again his voice was cold as he spoke to who ever he was speaking to. Come to think of it, he spoke to me the exact same way when I called him. Maybe that's just how he sounded over the phone.

I walked over and sat down on the couch and Ba Wei turned around and his eyes snapped to me. I raised an eyebrow at him and this caused him to just turn around. I shrugged my shoulders at the strange action.

I pulled out my phone and clicked on my messages. I don't know why I went there because I had no messages. I thought my father would've sent me something by now, but nope. I honestly am getting worried that the old man finally has gotten himself into something he can't get out of alone.

While thinking about that particular subject something crossed my mind. When was the last time I took my medicine? I scratched the back of head and tried to think back but I couldn't remember. That's not good.

I never had taken those pills religiously but I never skipped more than two days without taking them. If I did my father would throw a fit for no reason. It was just anxiety medication, and they didn't even help all that much. I honestly couldn't tell you why I was on it. I'll have to get a refill later.

I clicked off my phone and looked up at Ba Wei. He was still talking on the phone and I couldn't help but think that his answers to who ever was on the other side of that phone were strange. He would say no to something but then I guess the other person on the phone would argue and say something only to get the same answer.

His eyes were on the ground and that bummed me out since I wanted to see his face. Ba Wei made a large sigh and lifted his head. I immediately moved my gaze off him but I could feel his eyes on me. I thought he was going to give in to whatever the person wanted but he once again said no and hung up the phone.

"They're so damn annoying." That sentence made me look back at him. He had his hands on his hips and he looked tense.

"Someone wanted a favor I presume?" My voice was flat and that made Ba Wei I raise an eyebrow.

"Yeah. It was a weird one," he said as he walked over and sat beside me.

I raised an eyebrow at him, "what exactly were they asking you to do?"

"They wanted me to beat someone up for them."

"Who?" I didn't want to pry but I was curious.

"Dai Yang. I don't know why these people act like I'm their personal hitman."

I chuckled, "good thing you didn't take it."

"Why's that?"

"It would've been a waste of your time. The mark he left on my face didn't even hurt," I said as our eyes met.

As I stared into those eyes a shiver ran up my spine. I shifted my eyes and scratched the back of my neck. What was up with that sudden mood change. Just from his eyes I could tell that his mood had soured.

"Come on," he said suddenly.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow at him as he stood up.

"I gotta get you home."

I didn't say anything and just got up. I followed him over to the door and he handed me my bag.

"Thank you."

He didn't say anything in return and just opened the door and motioned for me to exit. What was with this attitude all of sudden. Did I say something wrong because it really seemed like he was trying to get rid of me fast.

I walked out the door and stopped soon after. Ba Wei followed after me. When he closed the door I heard aloud click and a small light above the door knob turned red. Without saying a word he started walking down the stairs. I wanted to ask him what his problem was but I knew from the atmosphere around him that I shouldn't. I'm totally a wuss.

When we made it to the bottom floor it was once again quiet. I would've thought that his father would be here at this time. I wanted to meet the so called gang leader. I couldn't help but think of what type of person he was. I wonder if he was like how ever one described gang leaders. I want to know.

I followed Ba Wei through the lower floor and soon we exited the house. The walk to the driveway was a quiet one and I couldn't stand it.

"Hey," I called. Ba Wei turned his head around toward me but didn't stop walking.

"What?"

"Did I say something wrong to you up there?"

Even though I didn't want to ask, it would be better than having the silence engulf us. He stopped walking and I halted soon after.

"What would make you ask that?"

I shrugged, "I don't know. You just seem to be in a hurry for me to leave all of sudden." His eyes scanned me for a second before he started back walking.

"My fathers having a meeting soon," he started. "I don't want you to be here when all of his associates arrive."

I didn't say anything after that because it made sense that he would want me gone before a gang meeting happened. I wonder how exciting it is to be apart of one of those meetings. I bet it's intense.

I pushed those thoughts to the back of my head and noticed that we were approaching the same car that brought me here. Ba Wei opened the back seat and climbed in. I followed after and immediately as I lifted my eyes I made eye contact with Kang Wu through the rear view mirror.

"Good evening young master, Ji Nan." I watched as his eyes squinted because of what I had to guess was a smile spreading onto his face.

"Hi," I said softly as I shifted my eyes.

"Where to," Kang Wu asked?

"His house," Ba Wei responded. Without any other words the car started to move. I raised an eyebrow at this because I couldn't help but wonder how he knows where my house is.

I turned to Ba Wei to see him staring out the window. I nudged him a bit and his eyes immediately snapped to me.

"How does he know where I live, "I asked quietly? I thought Ba Wei would get the hint that I didn't want him to hear but he didn't.

"He took me to your house to return the clothes."

"Oh," I said more loudly, "he remembered how to get to my house after one visit."

"He memorizes routes easily." I looked back towards the front and noticed that eyes were on me.

Even though Ba Wei gave me an explanation to why he knew my address, the fact that he memorized it after one visit was not possible. I don't know what it is but something about the guy behind the wheel seemed off.
