How did I get into this situation? That's all I could think as I watched Ba Wei shoot the ball into the hoop. The ball bounced back in his direction and Ba Wei caught it. He turned in my direction and I couldn't help but admire how the sun was reflecting off his skin. He looked even more handsome with the sun kissing his skin. As I stared at him I couldn't help but reflect on the past night. How unlucky .

Honestly when Ba Wei said he wanted to teach me, I didn't take him that serious. That was until he brought me here; to his basketball court. It was fairly large, but it looked fairly out of place with the large house it stood behind. It probably was the fact that this basketball court looked more aged than anything else I cold see around it. It was in great shaped, but you could tell that this was older than the house.

"See it won't be that hard," Ba Wei said pulling me out of my thoughts. I looked down at the basketball in his hands and I honestly wanted to laugh. He's about to kill me.

"I doubt this will be easy."

Ba Wei doesn't say anything in return and instead he tossed me the ball. I look down at it in my hands and can't help but raise an eyebrow at how foreign it felt. As I was twirling the ball in my hands, Ba Wei swiped it from me. I looked up at him to see that his face was more solid than cold. He looked very stern, and I couldn't help but think that it was cute.

"Let's go over the rules." He started bouncing the ball, but stayed still. "Each team can only have 5 players. Since were going to be playing one on one, you don't need to worry about that to much."

"Okay."

"Next is that the ball can only be moved by dribbling or passing. If you touch the ball like this," he caught it, "you cannot dribble. It much be shot or passed."

I raised an eyebrow at that last sentence. How the hell am I supposed to catch the ball if if I can't put two hands on it.

"That doesn't make any sense."

"You can catch the ball and still dribble but you can't do that on the court and go back to dribbling if you already have the ball," he explained. He tossed me the ball and I quickly caught it. "Dribble it."

"Okay." As in dribbled the ball I could feel him watching me.

"Next, if the ball goes into the opposing team half and they win possession back; the ball much go back over the half way line within 10 seconds. If it's not a foul will be called."

"This there's a lot to this," I said as I moved a bit while dribbling.

"Each team has 24 seconds to take a shot at the basket. That means either going in the hoop or hitting the rim."

"What happens if no one makes a shot?"

"Then the shot clock returns to 24 seconds."

I used my other hand to scratch the back of my neck. This didn't seem like a very hard game to play, but certain aspects like the rule he just said seemed very oddly worded.

"If the shots are successful the ball is turned over to opposition. Also when fouls reach a certain number they can result in a free throw."

I passed Ba Wei back the ball, "what's that?" Although I didn't really want to learn to play this game, it was interesting to see him talk about it. I could tell by his demeanor that he was enjoying talking about it.

"A free throw is basically when a person gets on this line," he walked over to the line, "and they shoot the ball from here. It's called the free throw line for that very reason."

I pushed my hair behind my ear, "that makes sense."

"There are a few violations such as dribbling, which is taking more than one step without dribbling the ball. Goaltending, which is when a person interferes with the ball traveling downward towards the basket."

"Sounds pretty easy," I said. Although I said that, I didn't believe it in the slightest. I don't think being cocky is gonna get me far.

"Really? Shoot the ball," he said as he tossed me the ball. Shit.

I didn't say anything and started dribbling the ball. I walked to the free throw line. I looked up at the basket and dribbled a few more times. I lifted the ball up and took the shot. I thought I was gonna miss it but to my surprise it went in.

"Not bad. How about we play a little short game?"

"Okay, but I'll probably be terrible."

"I'll teach you as we go along," he said as he bounced the ball over to me. Without skipping a beat I began dribbling it. Ba Wei took an offensive stance in front of me and he was eyeing me. I slowly began to walk forward and almost at the speed of light, Ba Wei swiped the ball.

"What the-"

"To slow." He jogged towards the goal and shot the ball from beneath. "What I just did is called a lay up." He grabbed the ball and walked back dribbling it. "Try to block me."

"You gotta be kidding," I asked in disbelief?

"No, in order for you to learn you gotta play."

I sighed and the same stance that he had did before. I watched him and the ball intensely as he moved. His moves were quite flexible despite his large size. It was as if he had studied this sport for a long time.

I narrowed my eyes on the ball as he turned and I quickly swiped it from him. I immediately began dribbling it and Ba Wei made sure that he was on me. He looked serious as I tried to get around him. It was becoming frustrating. I'm the end I just shot the ball from where I was and to both of our surprise it went in.

"Nice," he said as he grabbed the ball. "I won't let you get a shot like that again." He had a slight smirk on his face as he said this.

"Yeah we'll see about that."

Those words sparked an intense game and he didn't go easy on me. He of course still taught me as he did things such as push me. I had shit a lot of balls and Ba Wei had too, but if we were counting he'd definitely be in the lead.

"You're not half bad newbie," he said breathlessly.

"Yeah," I responded as I started flapping my shirt up and down. It was really hot, the kind of hot that you wished you didn't have to be in. I had long been sweating, and so was Ba Wei. I felt sticky and it didn't help that I was
in a shirt that was too large for me. Why don't I just take it off? Without even answering myself I pulled the shirt off and I immediately felt better.

I looked down at my exposed top half and almost felt embarrassed. Not because I was like this in front of Ba Wei, but because I looked so scrawny compared to him. I don't want to sound like a child but it wasn't fair.

I looked up and over a Ba Wei to see that he was staring at me. I raised an eyebrow but his eyes stayed glued to my bowls exposed chest. They would move up and down slowly and it made me want to cover up.

"Um why are you staring at me?"

His eyes shot to mine, and with a straight face he said, "just enjoying the view." I could feel my face turning red, and I knew Ba Wei could see it. He let out a laugh and walked over to me. He stopped a bit from me and reached out and pinched my nose. "Come on princess. One more game."
