Chapter 24 - Foul Play

Sylvester's Office, August 23rd, 23:40

G.o.D. squad has gathered around Sylvester's office for the briefing of their next mission, one in which the extent of the UEF's actions will be demonstrated by many. Sylvester is standing up next to the team, observing him while he holds some papers in his hands.

"As you may all know, you'll be part of this rescue operation to the Navigators. Your landing point from the HALO jump should be outside at the Corte Playa Catalina street. Reports coming from our spies say that most of the Zlocan convoys tend to be stationed there and it's where most Knights take a rest from their duties. Your first objective will be to knock down, or at least kill if you want to, the Zlocan Knights standing guard, try to pass off as them and travel all the way to the stadium."

"And of course, the latest upgrade in my gadgets will bypass Zlocan security measures. By creating identification-matching from the Zlocan Knights, we should pass undetected. Sounds like the plan of a genius, right my darling Sly?" Celina asks.

"Why yes. Next, drop the costumes and each team will try to disable the defenses while the rest infiltrates the stadium. Once you've rescued the Navigators and perhaps dealt with Nathan, head back to the nearest safe zone in Tierrasanta, where the helicopter team "Stingray" will be there to escort you back with some escort fighters to assist them as well. Remember, all of you need the combined effort to achieve success in this mission because otherwise, we might get a large shit pie if it goes downhill. Any more questions?"

"Would you transmit the results to the kiddos? They need to know how good we are in handling rescues, unlike a bunch of second-rate warriors," Walter says while grinning.

"Cool it, dear Walter, do you have any idea what Logan is going through?" Berat says.

"Why give a shit about pussies like him?" Ji-Ae replies.

"Knock it off! Now, without further ado, carry on and make good use of it. Dismissed!"

"Fine Colonel, but you should know something important...I'm going to make sure those Marines of yours get the desired discipline that you want them to," Mehdi says.

"If you mean flaming their behinds, then do it carefully," Sylvester replies

"Oh, and delicate as well, tontito," Valentina says.

They leave Walker's room, all ready to head up to their upcoming mission. While leaving the room, Ji-Ae leans near Walter's ear while cupping her hands to her mouth.

"So, about what Logan did back in 2020...was it that brutal?"

"What can I say? A man of his age at that time doing that kind of damage would be something quite eerie to think of...such young age."

"Yet he refuses to talk about it. Maybe it's because he's scared and wants to keep his stupid facade of goodie-two shoes?"

"Beats me, but probably so. And if that Alien chick dumps him for that, I'll settle the record straight to tell him about what we are all made of after all."

"Damn right..."

In the city of San Diego, the city looks desolated and ripped apart, likely coming from the resulting bombardment of Zlocan ships, many buildings torn apart, ships patrolling the skies and many knights guarding the streets.

The whole stadium, once a shrine of many baseball games, is now converted into a fortress, filled with AA guns capable of detecting stealth aircraft, even the most advanced ones.
