We finally reached luminose city and it was buzzing with activity. People and pokemon interacted happily, shoppers went in and out of stores and I couldn't help but smile.

Serena: the professor's lab is over this way follow me.

I gave a nod as I felt a gentle pair of arms wrap around my neck. I look down to see kirlia stir lightly, she awakens moments later.

"Hey kirlia.. did you sleep well?"

Kirlia: Kir.. *yawns* *nuzzles into nape of neck* (yes... but... I'm still tired...)

She yawns softly before resting her head against my chest. I smile and spoke in a whisper.

"Then get some rest, we met someone. Serena Kirlia is finally awake."

Serena turns her head to see the sleepy kirlia.

Serena: hi there. My names serena it's nice to see you.

Kirlia lightly nods before tightening her grip around me in a protective manner. Her eyes narrow a bit and let's out a hum.

Kirlia: kir. (Hmmm)

I gave a chuckle before petting kirlia's head to which she smiles and relaxes.

"Should we get moving serena?"

Serena: yes let's get going to the professors.

Time skip

I stood behind serena as she was given a pokedex by sycamore.

Sycamore: so have you decided?

Serena smiles before approaching the fennekin.

Serena: I choose fennekin. Would you like to come with me?

The small fire fox nods before jumping into serena's arms.

Sycamore: what about you David? I know you already have kirlia but would you like to choose a starter?

"I'm sorry but kirlia was my first so I am intending to keep her as my first. Kirlia was my very first friend, we did everything together. We played, bathed and ate together. In most ways I consider her family. *whisper* in some much more so."

Kirlia heard the last part and snuggled into my cheek.

Kirlia: kir. (Thank you David)

Sycamore: well if you say so. But I do think you should have these in case you feel like expanding your party.

Professor sycamore handed us 3 pokeballs each except I was given love balls hence kirlia.

Serena: thank you professor.

I bowed politely. "Thank you professor, I shall put them into good use. Also, where would we go for our first gym?"

Sycamore: I would say santaloone city. It's a half a days travel by foot.

Serena: oh, Thank you professor. David are you ready?

I smiled before answering. "Of course, maybe I might even perform in contests."

We left the building with a surprised serena behind me.

Serena: contests? Are you interested in competing?

"Yeah, my goal is to- um..."

I stopped abruptly before pondering. "Is to show the beautiful bond a human and pokemon are able to create with each other."

Serena: wow, I was hoping to be a professional, I guess our goals are similar.

I gave a smile as I held Kirlia's hand, kirlia responded by nuzzing into my cheek.
