Chapter 13 - The Chamber of Secrets

I ran out of the office, totally unaware of my surroundings, I bumped into someone, I hadn't eaten that day, so naturally, after I bumped, I fell on my back. I looked up to see who it was, Chris and Rafael, it was an odd pairing, but as soon as I saw them, I hugged Chris and starting sobbing like a little baby.

They were confused at first. I wasn't saying anything. Chris was like a brother to me. He took me to the Slytherin common room, he shouldn't have but he did, the portrait was not even letting me in, but after a lot of pleas, it opened the door. I was still in Chris's arms, crying and my eyes were shut, he placed me on comfortable leather couch. I opened my eyes and saw the room, I didn't care. It wasn't important that I was in a Slytherin common room, nothing was more important than what the letter had just stated.

"Darling, please tell me what's wrong? I didn't see you in The Great Hall today, are you skipping meals?" he asked cupping my face and wiping my cheeks that were drenched in tears. I saw Rafael looking at me, I didn't mind showing my weakest self in front of them. I shook my head, saying nothing. I knew I could trust them, I handed them the letter that I had shoved in my robes.

They both read it. My head was down, I didn't see what their expressions were. I couldn't see what they were thinking of me. As soon as I plucked up the courage to look up, I was engulfed in a hug by Chris. I could feel his tears at my shoulders, I was like his baby sister, he was an only child, he took care of me as if I really was his baby sister. When he broke the hug, Rafael hugged me too.

"What is a Ravenclaw doing here?" I heard Malfoy saying as he was walking down the stairs from his bedroom. I turned around to see him and he stopped dead in his tracks. I was a mess, my eyes were puffy, dark circles had already taken place under my eyes, I was weak from not eating the whole day. He saw my eyes; I saw him retrieve his steps back and he slammed his bedroom door shut. Was he disgusted of me? Was I that much of a mess? That much hideous?

"I'm sorry, Livvy. You had to go through that. I really wish you were my sister, so that I could've taken care of you, that I could've been the big brother you always wanted" Chris said wiping the tears off his cheeks.

"You are" I whispered. He hugged me again. "Do you want to stay here? You can take my dorm, if you-" he said, "No, I'll be going to my dorm, Hermione would be worried" I said cutting him off.

"Ok, then I'll walk with you" he said taking my hand.

"No, that's fine, you're already here, Rafael can walk me" I said again, turning him down. Rafael had been silent the whole time. He didn't say a word, while we were there.

I left the Slytherin common room with Rafael. He took my hand in his, intertwined his fingers with mine. I didn't mind, I knew that he liked me. But I was weak, I couldn't have even walked properly, let alone a straight line. I didn't want to be alone, but on the other hand, I did.

We walked in total silence, till we reached the Gryffindor tower. "You know, I'm always there for you, no matter what happens, you can always come to me" he said finally breaking the silence. I hugged him and he wrapped his hands around my back, rubbing it up and down, in an attempt to stop me from crying. It was too late. His embrace was calming, I couldn't help but feel like all my fears and problems now were far away and that no one could touch me. I broke the hug and he took my hands in his and brought them towards his lips and kissed them, I couldn't help but feel a little smile curl up on my lips, hardly noticeable. "You can always count on me" he said and walked me up the stairs to my gate, I whispered the password and went in.

Luckily no one was in the common room as it was curfew, I went up, dreading to see Hermione, because if she did, she would've killed me with hundreds of questions. But to my surprise, she was already asleep. She might be tired of executing their idea that they had planned for Malfoy.
