About the same time Tae sat down at his desk, Sky sat at the small kitchen table.  She had kept herself busy all morning, but she had run out of things to do.  All that was left was to worry over tonight.

She started to worry about going out.  She had been on very few dates and none in the past couple of years and never with a man she loved.

She was nervous.  Then it hit her.  What was she going to wear?

She ran to her room and picked through her new clothes- twice.  She had not picked out anything to wear out someplace nice.

She wanted to be beautiful tonight.  She wanted Tae to be proud when he saw her.

She sat hard on the bed and spent the next several minutes thinking.

Finally, she told herself to stop being a coward.  There had to be shops nearby.  It was the middle of the afternoon on a beautiful, sunny day.  There was no reason that she could not do this.

She stood and squared her shoulders, quickly changing into loose clothes that would be easy to change into and out of.  She gathered her things and her courage and headed down the stairs.

The café was in its afternoon lull, the cute college girl sitting at the bar doing her homework.

Sky caught her eye and was rewarded with an outgoing smile.  This girl was always nice to her.  She decided to take a chance.

“Hi,,” she started, wincing a bit at how awkward she sounded. “I was wondering if you could tell me if there was a shop nearby where I might pick up a couple of things to wear….to dinner “

The girl lit up at the question and was soon sharing her favorite place, right around the corner.  Her enthusiasm was contagious and Sky sat out to walk the block to the store.

She found it easily and realized why the girl liked it so well.  She wandered the asides of colorful sweaters, past the stacks of comfortable leggings.  In the back she found the work wear and party dresses.  The selection left her confused.

Before she could get overwhelmed, she found a corner and leaned against the wall, drawing deep breaths.

When she opened her eyes, she found a kind woman standing there, asking if she was ok.  Her presence calmed Sky and she told her she needed clothes for a special date.

She roamed the store for the next hour, trying and discarding styles.  She found a skirt in a deep moss green and she stopped to hold it against her.

It was tea length and made of tulle.  It would cover her and keep her from feeling exposed.  It was full enough that it did not cling to her and make her feel uncomfortable.  She found a matching cream-colored sweater that would cover her arms but would be snug enough to be flattering.

She thought of the way Tae loved to snuggle into her breasts and she blushed. It would be perfect.

Her helper brought over a plaid cashmere scarf that captured the colors of both pieces.  It would be a comfort piece for her.  If she got overwhelmed by noise or the crowd, she could wrap it around herself.
