Lyra had hurried Jungkook to get there early

Lyra had hurried Jungkook to get there early.  He pouted when she said they had to leave.  But she had made some pretty stellar promises on the ride over.  She always kept her promises, so that put him in a much better mood.

Except now he was stuck here at the bar alone, watching her check that all the candles were lit.

Where the hell was Tae?  He had better not be doing what he thought he was doing or he might just punch him on principle.  If he had to wait, then everyone should have to wait.

That settled, he was pouring himself a drink when he heard the door at the top of the stairs open and his friend emerged. Yep, he could tell from here he needed to be punched.

Then his eyes fell to the woman next to him and JK swallowed.

If he were to draw a picture of Taehyung’s soul mate, he would have drawn Sky immediately.  He said a quick prayer that she was as beautiful inside as she was outside.  Lyra talked about her often, all good things.

But all kidding aside, Tae was his best friend.  He had been there through everything with Lyra and the investigation at KimCom.  He would protect him with everything he had.  That included against a scheming woman.  They had both had their share of heartache.  It was time for Taehyung to find his happiness.

The bulk of those questions were answered when the couple reached the last step and Lyra saw Sky.

They rushed at each other like school girls, laughing and hugging and talking, lost in their own world.  They hurried off to check last minute details in a never-ending stream of chatter.

JK smiled as he noticed Lyra talked and Sky mostly listened.  They were perfectly suited.

Tae wandered over to the bar, pouring himself a drink and plopping down next to JK.

“Make your girlfriend leave my girlfriend alone,” he complained.

JK punched him in the shoulder.  ” Ha! At least you got to be “late", so don’t complain.  Plus, in case you did not know this, I cannot “make" Lyra do anything she does not want to do.  I refuse to even try.  Looks like you'd better learn that lesson quickly,” he advised, tipping his glass in Tae's general direction.

“I know,” he confessed. “But….and I know this is crazy….but I am jealous.  I want her here with me….” He trailed off when he saw his friend’s face.

“Not crazy at all,” JK agreed, watching Lyra across the room.  Tae easily recognized the mix of longing and pride.

They sat in silence, nursing their drinks and watching the women who stole their hearts.

Jin and Dae were the next to arrive.  They watched the now familiar scene as Dae joined Lyra and Sky, immediately immersed in the final preparations as Jin trudged toward them.

JK had his drink ready when he got there.

“Don’t like it, “he muttered, watching Dae across the room, “ there was a time she wouldn’t let me out of her sight.”
