Chapter 51.1 ~ Arrival

The princess's group set off early in the morning along with Crimson Lightning. After finishing their breakfast, they departed almost immediately so they could reach the royal capital before afternoon comes.

Today, Leon was also asked by the princess to join her in her carriage. However, Leon said that he wanted to discuss their course of action in the royal capital and would only be able to accompany her for a few hours. Although unfortunate, the princess accepted it since she still wanted to talk with him some more.

There wasn't actually anything that important that he had to discuss with his friends. Although its true that Leon wanted to discuss it with his friends, it was something that could be done quickly. However, Leon felt bad towards Freya, Lily, Vyra and Charlotte since they seemed to be unhappy yesterday.

Their mood have improved after Leon promised them that he would do anything they want as apology, but they still seemed dejected when Leon said he will be accompanying the princess again this morning. Though Leon was still confused at why they would be dejected in the first place. It might be because they were worried about him being exploited by the princess.

Similar to yesterday, the princess spent her time asking Leon about his life. She was asking him about his daily activities in Lingenia or about his interaction with his friends, not trying to dig up his past or anything like that. The princess would be able to found out about the information regarding the behemoth through those conversations. 

However those information were already made public and most people already knew of their achievements. In addition, the questions were more about Leon rather than the case which, in all honesty, confuses Leon. It wasn't the type of question that she would ask if she wanted to uncover Leon's identity either.

As he had planned, Leon returned to Crimson Lightning's carriage halfway through the journey. Unsurprisingly to everyone except Leon, Freya pounced at Leon right after he got into the carriage. Vyra and Lily also seemed to be happy that Leon came back while Charlotte claimed her rightful sitting spot on Leon's lap. The two fox cubs also stuck to Leon on his sides and with that, the usual sitting arrangement during the travel is complete.

Though it felt slightly cramped, Leon didn't mind it. He was never the type to complain in an uncomfortable situations but rather the type who would think of a solution. If he was uncomfortable, he would do something about it. But, this situation wasn't exactly uncomfortable for him.

He regarded Charlotte as his little sister and got closer to her recently. Since she was a very smart child, as long as it doesn't cause trouble or going too far, he would allow her to do what she pleases. That's why Charlotte became even more attached to Leon, especially after the talk he had with his player assistants.

She became very obedient to him and would also always ask him to pat her head or lay down on his lap. Because of that, she would receive stares of envy from Freya, Vyra and Lily whenever she was pampered by Leon.

Mia and Rafael also often joke around with Leon. Ever since the behemoth incident, Leon began to accept them as a friend and open up to them. Although there was still a part of him who doubted their kindness and friendship, it was considerably less than when he first met them. His player assistants were also getting along with Mia, Rafael and Lily.

Charlotte was regarded as everyone's little sister and she's also quite fond of them, though Leon is still her number one. Freya and Vyra also talked a lot with Mia and Lily during the trip. Sometimes they would even laugh together as if they had been friends for a long time.
