The sounds of battle reverberated within the high noble district where a monster suddenly appeared from below the ground.

"Vyra, take care of the ivy."

"Yes!"

"Charlotte."

"Un."

Thorny vines shoot off from the ground and entangled Grioritus's feet, stopping its movement.

With this chance, Alex and Leon immediately used their skills to deal damage to it.

<<Skill: Enfeebling Blade>>

<<Skill: Tempest Slash>>

After they managed to deal quite a significant amount of damage to the Grioritus and lowering it's status, Leon and Alex fall back, allowing the back lines to have a clear shot.

<<Spell: Light Javelin>>

"Oh Fire. Burn my foes and let them taste your power. Let all that defy you burn to ashes. Firestorm!"

Along with Lily's multiple mana arrows, Freya and Mia fired their spells at the same time, not allowing the monster to even react.

With its ivy tentacles cut down by Vyra, the Grioritus realized that there was no way he could reach the back lines while also fighting Leon, Vyra and Alex. Knowing there was no other choice, it activated its special skill.

From the ground grew numerous vines, forming into three smaller versions of the Grioritus. As soon as they were conjured, they immediately run at Freya, Lily and Mia with full speed.

However, this was already something that Crimson Lightning has already expected.

Rafael and Iris immediately stood before them and engaged them.

"You won't get past me easily, plant mutts."

There stood Rafael and Iris, standing in between them and their targets with a wide provocative smile. Normally they would pounce them at once, but their instincts told them that the swordsman and woman before them were dangerous.

One of the Ivy hounds moved slowly towards Iris while the other two ivy hounds against Rafael moved away from each other slowly, attempting to position themselves into a two pronged attack then squared off. Iris and Rafael of course didn't miss it and readied themselves while keenly watching their movements.

After staring at each other for a while, the three hounds rushed towards Rafael and Iris at full speed. The distance between them were only a few meters to begin with, thus they seemed to instantly appear in front of them.

The ivy hounds opened their jaws and direct their fangs at them. However, in this dire state, rather than panicking, the two smiled as if everything was all according to plan.

Immediately, Rafael activated his new sword art which he developed with Vyra and Alex's help while Leon was dealing with the princess's assault incident. It was something he developed in order to help with his weak points.

Rafael was used to dealing with monsters who are either less intelligent than humans or only slightly on par. Even if he had dealt with humans, they were mostly thugs who didn't know how to use a sword properly. Thus, his sword art <<Wolf Fang>>, a single sword thrust at incredibly high speed, was enough.

However, now that they might be fighting against other humans, Rafael need to be able to rely on other things besides his speed and strength. That's why he developed <<Twin Fang>>, his new sword art.

When fighting against a person, he could use one of his twin attack as a feint and strike them with the other one. And of course, it would also be potent against multiple opponents, like right now.

Iris too activated her sword skill <<Rose Slash>> and strike the ivy hound, taking advantage of its reckless pounce. Thanks to her training with Leon, Rafael, Alex and Vyra, she was able to level up and almost catch up with Rafael and Mia. That was the reason why she was able to kill the ivy hounds in one attack.

Rafael, as soon as he activated <<Twin Fang>>, his sword shone and traveled with amazing speed, slashing at both hounds in quick succession.

*Thud* *Thud**Thud*

The now lifeless hounds fall to the ground and disappeared into particles of light. Although monsters in this world do not disappear like they do in Grandeur Fantasia, summoned monsters like the Ivy Hounds do. At most, it will leave behind a magic stone if the monster was above a certain level.

"Phew~ Piece of cake."

Iris and Rafael breathe a breath of relief as they have defeated their enemies, though one did so more elegantly than the other.

"Don't get cocky you idiot, help Leon and the others if you're so free!"

"I get it! ...Wait, I don't think they need any help though..."

As soon as Rafael looked towards the main battle, the Grioritus were already full of wounds and visibly exhausted. Leon, Vyra and Alex on the other hand didn't even break a sweat. Silverio also didn't seem to be tired, thanks to Charlotte's and Freya's support and healing magic.

Although most of the damage was done by Leon and the others, Silverio keeping up with them despite the fact that it was the first time he fought together with them proved that he wasn't considered to be one of the best in the kingdom for nothing.

The conclusion to the battle was clear as day. However far from giving up, Grioritus's eyes were filled with rage, unfathomable anger, even more so than before. It was as if it was cursing its own weakness, its own fate. Getting captured, sealed, imprisoned in a pitch black void with no way out.

Leon saw a reflection of his past self in its eyes. He had felt anger towards the people who imprisoned him in that world. He wanted to destroy everything, but he couldn't. He knew that by doing so, others lives would also be ruined. And thus, he couldn't do anything. As time passes, his flames of anger had already burned everything in him, leaving him empty, an even worse hell than before.

"I pray that you will find a better life in the next one. One where you can be together with your beloved."

Similar to him who has found a better life in this world, he wished that it would find it as well.

Probably out of pity, or kindness, Leon decided to use one of his strongest sword skill which was capable of cutting the behemoth in two.

As he rises it into the sky, Misteltein shone with brilliant crimson light which pierced the dark skies of the royal capital.

The Grioritus who saw this muster its last bit of power and rushed towards him in hopes of killing him before he kills it.

In the face of the 8 meters tall monster rushing towards him with the intent to kill practically blazing out of its very being, Leon stood with unwavered calmness. He looked at the monster straight into its eyes, seeing his past self who haunted him in it.

He used to be powerless against it and gave up. But now, he was not alone. There are people who he loves and treasure, becoming his strength. So he will cut down the remnants of his past and move on to live with his friends and beloved towards a new future.

"Thank you for making me what I am today. Goodbye."

<<Skill: Heavenly Slash>>

Leon swung down Misteltein, and along with the Grioritus, a drop of tear fell to the ground as he smiled relieved.

The crimson light drew an arc from the sky down to the ground, and silence returned to the night sky once more.
