Chapter 90.2 ~ First Class

AN: Was writing a plot for a new story and creating characters. Made the male lead, female lead, and male rival. But when I wrote the female rival, I came to like her much more than the female lead... This exercise would allow him to gauge the extent of his students' magical ability.

Mages could manipulate mana inside and outside their body without consciously putting effort. However, being able to manipulate their mana intentionally was the difference between A and B rank mages and low rank mages. Being able to manipulate the mana inside their body would increase their casting speed and lower the amount of mana used when casting spells.

Although they started sweating after five minutes, they were performing better compared to the others who broke out of their concentration every two minutes.

Leon watched the Fox princess and her aide/guard who were doing the best compared to the other students. The level of control they have over the mana in their body were heads above the others.

According to Alex's investigation on the princess, the Shrine Maiden Princess was of the race Divine Fox. They are the leading race of the beastmen kingdom Bestia or in other words, royalties. Their physical strength is the third strongest in the world. This feat was already enough to make them rule at the top of the beast kingdom. However, their true power lies in their racial ability and magic.

The Divine Fox is the only race that could cast ancient magic. They are incredibly powerful and versatile with little to no weakness. One advanced ancient magic spell could decimate an entire army in one swoop. The only downside was the need to prepare a ritual and a sacrifice. Except for that, there are no real weakness to ancient magic.

Alex couldn't get much detail on their racial ability since its details weren't known by many. However, he managed to get the name of the skill, <<Mystification>>. It is an incredibly powerful ability, but it came with a cost.

Based on what Leon saw right before Charlotte and him came to their aid, it's possible that the princess was about to use it, prepared to suffer the cost, to save her aide and guard.

She emitted a very strong aura at that time. Her magic skyrocketed, allowing her to achieve enough power to defeat the dark bear by Leon's estimation. It shone in noble and beautiful radiance.

It might be due to her training to use that racial ability that she performed better than her peers.

Amaterasu's mana flow was energetic and impassioned, yet smooth and fluid. It was very warm and uplifting. Altria's mana flowed like the breeze, cooling and comfortable.

After about 10 minutes, many students broke out of their concentration and slumped to the ground. They were sweating profusely as they try to catch their breath.
