Chapter 122.2 ~ Elimination Rounds Day 1 (2)

AN: I'm so sorry for the late update >_<!!! Wrote the fight scenes and got too absorbed into it that I forgot I haven't updated yet!! Once again, I'm sorry!!! Hope you guys enjoyed this update!!!

Leon and Cecily were immediately welcomed by Amaterasu and the others the moment they entered the waiting room.

"Welcome back, Mr. Leon, Cecily!!! How did it go? You won, didn't you?"

Amaterasu asked excitedly as she held Cecily's shoulders and looked at her with sparkling eyes. Cecily was slightly surprised when she was suddenly pounced by this pink fox princess. She blushed at how close her face was to her, but she quickly regained herself and pushed Amaterasu away softly by her cheeks and cleared her throat.

"H-Hmph! Of course I won!"

"Hehehe~ As expected of Cecily~!"

Amaterasu giggled happily while fawning over Cecily who's trying to keep her grin from showing. She was a noble lady, after all. She should be elegantly smiling rather than grinning widely. 

By her principle, as a princess, Amaterasu should act more elegantly and gracefully, just like her country's princess, Aria. Though after spending quite some time with her, she gave up on reprimanding her as even her aide failed to do so. She just accepted it. Cecily expressed her dissatisfaction when Amaterasu acted unladylike, but in all honesty, her cheerfulness made everyone around her happy, including herself. That's why she couldn't outright hate her cheerfulness as she enjoyed her warm and sunny personality, though she won't admit it since it'll probably make her even more overbearing.

"Congratulations, Lady Cecily."

"Congratulations, Cecily! I never doubted that you'd win!"

"Congratulations. Though, it is only natural that you'd win."

"C-Congratulations...!"

"Congratulations, Cecily-chan~!"

"Ufufufu. Thank you, everyone."

Cecily giggled elegantly with her lithe hand covering her mouth like a noble lady. She never doubted her victory, but being congratulated like this by her friends certainly gave her a very pleasant feeling. It was different from when her entourage congratulated or praised her. She knew that they were mostly doing it out of obligations due to their household's relationship with her's. 

They were never her friends, as sad as it was. They only kept her company, despite her immaturity, because their parents told them so. She was downhearted, though she never showed it. But now, she has people she could truly call friends, and being praised by her true friends really did make her feel very happy.

"Now it's your turn to win your match. If you win, our team's score will be perfect!"

"U-Ugh... that's too much pressure, Cecily..."

"Ohohohoho~! Do your best, princess~"

Amaterasu squirmed in nervousness as Cecily laughed and smiled at her with a full smile. The others giggled at their interaction as they watched them. Despite Cecily always berating Amaterasu for her conduct, they get along very well. The one closest to Cecily, beside her childhood friend Silverius, would most probably be Amaterasu. After all, despite all the mean things Cecily said to her, Amaterasu never took it to heart and still treated her very closely. That's why Cecily was drawn to her and liked her very much.

Leon also looked at the two with a smile. He was glad that Amaterasu could make such close friends besides Altria. Though he found something strange. He was also happy for Cecily for being able to finally have someone she could call a true friend, but he was happier and more relieved for Amaterasu.

Both of them were his students and he should be treating them the same. Was it because he spent more time with the sakura-color haired fox princess? Or was it due to something else?

He fell into a moment of contemplation, but then he sensed two familiar magic signatures near their room.

"Ms. Cecily, it seems that your parents are here to congratulate you."

"Eh? Papa and Mama?"

"Yes. They seemed to be looking for our room to find you. You should go to them."

"Yes. Thank you very much, Mr. Leon."

Cecily curtsied gracefully towards him then left the room to find her parents. 

Leon turned towards the two fox girls who were now sitting on the couch. Amaterasu was curled up on the couch like a kitten and laying her head on Altria's lap with a blissful expression as Altria stroked her long, soft hair and fluffy ears. Both of their ears were twitching happily and their fluffy fox tails swayed in a relaxed manner. 

At this moment, they didn't seem like an aide and her princess, but rather a pair of very close sisters. 

"Funyaaa~"

"My princess, please do not make those ungraceful sounds. Remember, we are still in the presence of our friends and Mr. Leon."

"But I love being patted by you, Altria~ Let me indulge in this a bit more. I feel like I'd be able to do my best if you continue stroking my head."

"What a spoiled princess..."

Amaterasu giggled happily to Altria's helpless smile and sigh. She loved how Altria continued to pet her even though she told her not to act so spoiled. Altria had always spoiled Amaterasu, despite her mind telling her not to. She just couldn't help it.

It seems there is no need for me to worry if she could make such a blissful expression.

Leon also smiled helplessly when he saw Amaterasu grinning so blissfully as she nuzzled more and more into Altria's lap.

Though her position right now made him wonder if she was a kitten or a fox. She was very cute, however, and Victoria would definitely pounce at her and hug her very tightly if she saw Amaterasu right now. After all, even he found it absolutely adorable. 

He could understand how happy Altria was feeling right now since he too felt very happy and at peace when doing the same thing to his own cute little kitten, Vyra. Her black tail would wrap around his waist and he would stroke her head that she laid on his lap. Vyra would also mewl in bliss as Leon stroked her hair and played with her cat ears. It was absolutely heavenly for both of them.

As he recalled how blissful his relaxing time was with Vyra, he couldn't help but also think of how wonderful it would be to be petting both Amaterasu and Vyra at the same time. Though, he quickly dismissed the thought the moment he remembered that Amaterasu has someone she's interested in. 

It was one of the reasons why he didn't want to reveal that he was the one who saved her in the forest and the fact that he could "Mystify". Although it wasn't confirmed, the likelihood of him being the man in the oracle was very high and he didn't want Amaterasu to be forced to marry him despite loving someone else. It would be best for her to marry out of love rather than an oracle.

He sighed inwardly, hoping there wouldn't be a situation where he'd have to reveal his ability to "Mystify" to Amaterasu and Altria.
