Slamming the hood of your car down, you let out a frustrated growl. Figures your car would break down in the middle of nowhere in winter. Normally you would be ready for an emergency like this, but you can't figure out where the problem is. At least you prepared for if you were stranded like this. Moving to the trunk, you grabbed the spare blankets, coats, and candles you had. Sure, you've called someone, but there's no telling when they'll get here. Stuffing the items in the car, you paused when you glanced down the road.

There was a woman walking towards you. She looked like she was freezing. Just looking at her made you feel cold. She was stunningly beautiful, though.

"Ma'am, are you okay?" You asked, grabbing a blanket and moving closer to her.

"I'm okay." She nodded, with a slight Swedish accent, "Are you lost?"

Frowning at that answer, you shook you head, "I'm not. My car broke down. I'm sorry but you look about frozen solid. Here you can use this blanket."

She blinked at you in surprise before she smiled with a nod. Moving around you to wrap it around her, you paused when you saw that her back was covered in tree bark. It looked almost like her back was the tree bark. Not only that, she had also had a cow tail, though it was slightly hiding in her dress. You've heard of this creature before, a Huldra. A beautiful woman who was known for treating men the way they treat her. Treat her with respect and she'll be kind to you. They say should you anger her; she will lead you to your death. In a case like this, you think it would be best to just ignore what you saw and treat her the way you would treat any other woman.

"There, that should be a little warmer." You gave her a smile which she returned.

"Thank you. That was probably the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me." She almost looked like she was blushing, but you're sure it was the cold, "If you're waiting for someone, I can let you stay in my cabin. It's not far from here and it warm."

A warm place to stay for, what could be, a couple hours? That's better than being buried under blankets in your car and huddling around a small candle!

"Thank you. I would appreciate that." You nodded, which seemed to make her smile widen before she motioned for you to follow her. Making your way through the snow and the woods, you grinned when you saw the cabin. It definitely looked cozy. Nodding your appreciation as she opened the door to let you in, you sighed at the warmth inside. Not to mention the delicious smelling food. Now that you're inside, you realize that you were shivering.

"Come sit." She called pulling out a carved wooden chair, "I'll get you some food."

Nodding, you sat down, "Um, ma'am, I don't believe we introduced ourselves."

"Oh, yes. I am Maja." She introduced, setting a bowl of vegetable stew in front of you.

"My name is (Y/N)." You greeted, eating the stew.

"(Y/N)," She hummed almost like she was singing it, "You have no idea how happy I am to have meet someone a nice as you."

"Really?" you were a little surprised.

"Yes," She giggled, "My sisters were hoping that I would."

There's more of them? It was believed that there was only one. At least she's not alone, you suppose.

"Are people not generally nice you?" She looked down with a small frown.

"Not really. Most are attracted to me, but they're not nearly as nice as you." She chirped, grinning at you with a smile before going around you and giving you a hug from behind. A little tightly, like she wasn't going to let go.

"I'm so happy I found you. You're so kind and charming." Now you're getting a little uncomfortable. All you did was give her a blanket. There's no need for her to hug you like this. Gently peeling her hands from your neck, you grimaced a little at her upset face.

" Thank you." You coughed standing, "I've taken enough of your time, I believe. I'll be heading back to my car. Thank you again, Maja."

"No!" she screamed jumping between you and the door, "It's still cold out there and no one is there. You'll be better off here."

"I really don't want to bother you." You lied, hoping to sound polite, in truth, you want to leave.

"You're not, (Y/N)." She assured you, pushing you back and into the chair. Your eyes widening in horror as some of the carving of the chair seemed to come to life to wrap around your wrists and ankles. You tried pulling out of them, but to no avail.

"Maja, what are you doing?" You gasped as she giggled.

"I told you, I was happy to find someone kind like you. My sisters are going to be happy that I found a husband like you. They might even be a little jealous." There was clear joy in her voice as her tail started wagging.

"H..Husband?" You choked out, "I...We can't. We don't even know each other."

"We know enough." She shrugged her shoulders, "I know that you are a well-mannered and a kind man. You were still nice to me even when you found out what I am. I offered you to stay in my home. I gave you some of my food. We're both kind, considerate people. We're perfect for each other."

Realizing that you weren't going to get anywhere like this, you shook your head. You didn't want to be harsh, but there's no other way around it.

"Maja, I'm not going to marry you." You declared, clearly, "I can't marry you. I have a life away from here."

For once, her eyes seemed to turn dark, slightly scaring you.

"(Y/N), you don't get the situation you're in." She sighed, "I'm not going to give you a choice. Well, you'll have a choice, but you're not going to be leaving."

"W..What?" you gasped, earning a giggle from her.

"I'm not going to let you leave until you agree to marry me." She hummed before gasping with a smile, "I still have to tell my sisters. Since you're still in shock from the news, I'll let you calm down and think about it. I'll be back after a while, my future husband."

"Maja, wait." You called, "Hold on. Let me go. I already said I'm not marrying you."

She only gave you a smile as she waved and shut the door.
