"where you even planning on telling me." Lex asked, her voice quivering as she tried to hold back the tears threatening to spill from her eyes. she held onto the phone a little tighter, afraid of what Cole was going to say. Why did it matter? he had fallen out of love and there was nothing she could when they were miles apart while she was off in college.
Cole sighed, "Eventually." he muttered, "Lex-"
"How long?" she asked, interrupting him.
"Lex-"
"just answer the stupid question, Cole. it's not rocket science."
there was a pause on his end of the line, "couple of weeks. i didn't- i'm sorry."
lex finally let out a the sob that she had been holding in, the same sob that filled Cole's ears and made his heart drop to his knees because she was still the same girls that hung over him like a cloud, "so you're just gonna throw away everything? our plans? i did not waste a year of my life for you to just for you to wake up one morning and decide that i was not enough."
