Haylee lazily lounged around with Nala and Leo on the sofa on her parent's deck. It was a shockingly warm day considering it had snowed a lot lately. She smiled as she pet her dogs. She picked her phone up and FaceTimed Jonah.
"Hey, Hayls."
"Hey, Jo," she grinned.
"You look like you're enjoying the sun."
"It finally came out. It's so nice," Haylee smiles, "I have a question."
"Go ahead."
"What do you think of the name Bailey?"
"For a kid or a dog?"
"Either," she yawned, "Sam hated it. I'd want to spell it differently for a kid than a dog."
"Why are you thinking about this?"
"I don't know. I just am."
"Isn't this a conversation you'd normally have with Lex?" Jonah raised an eyebrow.
"I did a long time ago. Lex said she'd disown me," Haylee rolled her eyes as Jonah laughed.
"You're 0 for 2 in asking people for their opinions."
"I'm aware. I just want a third opinion."
Jonah rolled his eyes again and sighed, "sounds like a bad idea, but okay. How would you spell it for a kid?"
"Well it'd only work for a baby girl, but B-a-y-l-i. I'd spell it normally for a male or a female dog."
"The spelling doesn't bother me, but are you seriously considering Bayli and Haylee?" Jonah laughed, "I'd actually hate you for that. And what would we call the baby for short? Bay? Li? Bayls? Oh my god! I see why Lex hated this! Bayls and Hayls?! Stop it right now with this bullshit, Haylee."
Haylee let out a huff, "okay did you and Lex talk about this?"
"Sure didn't. Try again with the names. Also Bailey is too normal a dog name for you. Your dogs are named Napoleon and Nala. I think you need another unique name that starts with an 'N' if you get another dog."
"I'll start thinking."
"You want another dog?"
"Yeah. I do."
"Crazy dog mom."
"And damn proud of it. And I'm proud of you. You had a great game two days ago."
"Thanks. I was happy."
"I could tell," she smiled, "I miss you."
"I miss you too. You always have an open invitation out here."
"I might have to take you up on that once I'm more solid with the crutches. I could swing down and surprise Lex too."
"I think that sounds great. Just let me know when."
