"I'm mad at you," Lex grumped as she watched Haylee get ready for the game.
"Why?" She sighed, "because I make you look underdressed?"
"No. You tagged me and Mike in the picture of you and Sam at the reservoir and now my brothers are grilling me again."
"Welp," Haylee sighed.
"You gonna let them meet him tonight?"
"No."
"No?!"
"No!"
"Wh-" Haylee broke off, running into the bathroom with a wave of nausea.
Lex followed her into the bathroom and held back her hair as she crouched over the toilet. She gently pat her on the back as Haylee emptied her stomach again.
"SAM!" Lex yelled to the Scotsman downstairs waiting for them to get ready.
After a few minutes, Haylee stood up and went to the sink. She wiped her mouth and washed her hands. Sam showed up in the doorway as Haylee fixed her concealer.
"Still sick?" Sam asked as he hugged her from behind.
"Yeah," she mumbled, "I hate you."
"I love you. Thank you," Sam rubbed her stomach gently.
"I AM GOING TO BE ALONE FOREVER!"
"Maybe if you'd quit friend zoning Mike you wouldn't! He likes you a lot," Haylee snapped.
"I don't w-"
"I know you're not over Cole yet, and I understand that one hundred percent. And so does Mike. He just wants to be there for you. He's a really good guy."
"You said that about Cole," Lex hissed.
"He's getting sold," Sam piped up.
"What?" Lex and Haylee asked in unison.
"Yeah. Too much competition in the midfield. He couldn't cement his place or even get minutes off the bench, so he's getting sold to Charlotte," Sam explained, "should be announced in the next few days."
"Oh," Lex bit her lip.
"Open your heart to Mike," Haylee gently took Lex's hand and gave it a squeeze.
