———————————

An average Tuesday morning involved Y/N walking to school with her earphones blasting music on to her eardrums, but aforementioned earphones would be removed the second she walked through the school gates, where she would approach her group of friends and greet them. Of course, this wouldn't happen without a glance to the cluster of the most popular students in school; of which contained her crush, C/N.

It's not that Y/N and her friends were unpopular, in fact they were quite well-known around the school, but they weren't as popular as C/N's group. Popularity didn't particularly matter to Y/N, as regardless of popularity status she would still want to get C/N's attention. And, well, if the only way to do that was to be in the spotlight, then she was willing to be.

Second period would roll around, and she and a few of her friends would head to physics, a class they shared with C/N. The teacher was generous enough to let them group themselves for a research project, so it wasn't long before friend groups had gathered around tables on mismatched chairs and stools, making what could only be described as a riot-like noise. Already, the teacher had clocked off somewhat and didn't seem to care, but that didn't stop them from giving a stern, "Language," when dearest Y/N swore a little too loudly mid-sentence. It was loud enough for a few heads to turn, one including C/N's.

All Y/N could do was turn back to her work and try to retain her composure.

Then break would come, and Y/N and her friends would play netball or basketball together on the courts, which were right by the field where C/N and his friends would play football or rugby. It was a prime opportunity to steal glances at the boy, and also the perfect excuse to be loud enough to catch the attention of people nearby. Y/N always refuted it, but her friends swore that C/N would glance at their game every couple minutes.

When lunch would take its turn, Y/N's group would opt for sitting down and eating on the school field over playing sports. It was even nearer to where C/N's group would continue to play football or rugby, which meant an even better view of his perfectly sculptured face. However, it was a rare moment Y/N wasn't staring when the day's choice of sport's ball, a football, was mishit and went flying in her direction before hitting her on the shoulder. Hard.

She grumbled, beginning to rub her sore upper arm, but the pain seemed a distant memory when C/N was the one who came over and picked up the ball. "Sorry, Y/N," he sighed, "My aim's all wonky today. Does it hurt too badly?"

At the reminder of the injury, the pain came back full swing, but she still shook her head feebly and said, "No, it's fine. Thanks for asking."

"'Course!" he grinned, ruffling her hair and running back on to the makeshift pitch.

Y/N couldn't help but smile and touch her head as he ran away.

Finally, the end of the day became the present, with Y/N absolutely socially drained and still in a considerable amount of shoulder pain. My God could C/N kick a ball hard. She smiled through the pain, though, and even laughed so hard in her last lesson (history) that she got sent out of the class for a couple minutes.

Just as she had said her goodbyes to her friends for the day, C/N showed up in front of her, startling her a little. "Y/N, I hurt you more than you told me, didn't I?"

All Y/N could do was stare blankly at him.

"I've seen you clutching your shoulder all day."

He had been... looking... at her?

"I mean- yeah, but like- you didn't mean to hit me- and you apologised... so I didn't wanna burden you with it."

"That doesn't excuse me being so careless," he retorted, "Come on, d'you wanna come to my house?"

She couldn't turn that offer down.

Upon arriving at his home, he immediately dished out painkillers and a hot cup of tea in order to subdue the remaining pain. It had pretty much entirely faded by the time they were sat cross-legged opposite each other on one of the sofas, engaging in light conversation with eruptions of giggles.

"No seriously, C/N, I'm not ticklish!"

"I don't believe you. Everyone's at least a bit ticklish."

"Look, I don't know how to prove it to you, mate."

C/N's lips stretched into a smirk; he darted forward and began tickling all along Y/N's waist and tummy immediately. It wasn't ticklish, but as C/N was the one attempting to tickle her, she couldn't help but burst out laughing anyway. She was very flustered too, and began trying to tickle him back, until they both fell off the settee with a thud, still laughing. C/N tickled her just a little more before coming to a stop, but not moving from his position which involved his knees either side of Y/N's thighs and his hands now pinning her arms down to the ground to prevent her from attempting to tickle him again.

Staring up at him with widened eyes, Y/N lip-smiled abashedly, silently wondering what was going through C/N's head. He chuckled a little, revelling in her flustered state; he quickly pressed his lips to hers, though, as she looked annoyingly adorable up close and he couldn't resist.

When he pulled away, he saw her frozen in shock for split second, but it was incredibly short-lived. Her lips quickly stretched into the widest grin he had ever seen, and it was a flash of a moment before she had wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him on top of her in a lung-crushing hug.

"I won," he whispered in Y/N's ear, burying his face into the crook of her neck.

"No fairs," she said, "My sore arm put me at a disadvantage."

He snorted, "Sure, baby, I'll let you pretend that's the only reason you lost."

Well, she certainly had gotten his attention.
