Lockdown was upon the world, due to the coronavirus pandemic risking infection and possibly even death to those vulnerable. Y/N's town was no different: both her and her crush's family were quarantined in their house. The rules had loosened slightly, meaning they were now permitted to see a few friends but stay within that bubble. Unfortunately, Y/N's family insisted they remained properly in quarantine just to be on the "safe side". She didn't see why it was necessary, as they were in a small town that had literally no cases.

Y/N had kept in contact with her crush, C/N, who was one of the bad boys of her school. He had miraculously remained somewhat selfless during this time and adhered to the quarantine rules, but now they were loosened he was out with his bad boy friends once more.

Never in a million years had she expected to receive a text from him at one in the morning while watching a film with her mum.

C: Wanna go for a drive? I'm bored and all my friends are asleep

Her heart fluttered the second she saw what he was asking to do, but there was no way her mother would let her out. So, faking a yawn with her arms stretched, Y/N said, "I'm quite tired, mum, I'm gonna call it a night."

"Alright, see you tomorrow, honey," she smiled, before turning her attention right back to the television.

Y: I'd love to, though I'll have to sneak out

C: Great, cause I'm already outside

Y/N grinned to herself, changing out of her pyjamas and into a navy blue hoodie and black leggings. She slipped down the stairs and past the lounge door she had taken extra care to shut on her way upstairs. Tugging on some shoes as silently as possible, Y/N managed to open and shut the front door with little to no sound.

Just a bit down the road was C/N's car purring softly by the pavement. She smiled at him, before opening the door and hopping into the passenger seat. "Hey," he said with a grin, "Long time, no see."

"Yeah..." she pulled on her seatbelt.

"I've kinda missed you, ya know," he chuckled, seemingly unaware of the blush rising to Y/N's cheeks.

He turned down into one of the country lanes after a few minutes of driving down the streets, passing many of the local lakes and views. Then they went someway past the local woods where they saw the familiar abandoned house no one went near. "I wonder what's inside there..." Y/N thought out loud, gazing at the apparently haunted house.

"Wanna find out?" he gave her a cheeky grin, not letting her respond before he pulled into the long driveway and made his way up to the house. They both hopped out and stood in front of the cottage, observing the walls that appeared to be completely harmless but were rumoured to be otherwise.

C/N took Y/N's hand, tugging on it as he strolled up to the front door. Cautiously, he reached out and grabbed ahold of the doorknob, turning it to find the house was unlocked. The door creaked open after he pushed it slightly, to reveal a darkened hallway with crooked floorboards and peeling wallpaper.

Gulping nervously, Y/N didn't say anything as she let C/N lead her upstairs and into one of the bedrooms. The double bed had no mattress and the curtains surrounding the four posters were tattered and destroyed. That wasn't the main focus of C/N's, however, as he had his eyes on the window that led out on to a bit of flat roof that could be used to climb to the very top.

He took out his phone and turned on the torch, pressing record on the camera to document this once in a lifetime moment. After pointing the camera towards Y/N, to which she waved, he turned back to the window and went over to it. Handing the phone to Y/N, she filmed as he lifted up the squeaky window pane and climbed out. She followed behind him and copied his movements as they climbed to the highest point of the roof.

Sitting there, the pair observed the moon stars in tranquility now that the recording was stopped and phone put away. "I'm glad you agreed to come out," he muttered softly, glancing at her, "I've wanted to tell you something for a while now but I haven't had the chance with lockdown and everything."

"What is it?" Y/N couldn't help but get her hopes up.

"I really like you, Y/N," he took her hand once again, "And I'm not just saying that to get you into bed."

Her breath hitched, but she still managed to say, "I really like you too, C/N."

His soft lips met hers in a sweet and chaste kiss, one of his hands delicately cupping her warm cheek. They parted, and resumed looking at the stars as the time ticked towards half two. Checking her phone, Y/N was relieved to see there were no angry messages from her mother. "We should get going," he said, already beginning to make his way back to the window.

C/N pulled up outside Y/N's house about twenty minutes later, and walked her up to the front door. He pressed another kiss to her lips, and then her forehead before saying, "I'll see you again soon, now that you're my girlfriend and everything you're obliged."

Giggling, Y/N gave him a kiss on the cheek, letting him walk back to his car as she slipped inside her household. There was no angry mother in sight, and Y/N discovered the next morning she was completely unaware that she had snuck out.

Which was a good thing, because Y/N did it a lot after that.
