Prachi was getting ready for the day when the door of her room was flung open and her sister sighed.

"Agar Miss Universe ka sajna dhajna ho gaya ho toh chale? I'm getting late di."

She whined making Prachi roll her eyes. Such a drama queen.

She put her stuff in her bag and got up wearing her heels.

"Your college starts at 9:30. 8 baj rhe hai abhi. Pahuch jaayegi time se bahut pehle."

She said tapping her phone on her forehead making her pout.

"You know I don't like to be late. Bache alien ki tarah ghurte hai."

Prachi chuckled at her baby sister and side hugged her while walking down.

"Ok chalo Misha amma. Aapko aapke college pahuchaye."

After dropping Misha to her college she started off to the office. Ahluwalias were a big name. They were into various businesses including grocery and sanitary items.

Prachi looked after the grocery business mainly.

She entered the office and people on her way greeted her. She smiled and greeted them back walking towards her cabin with class.

And why not? She owned it. She deserved it. She wasn't here because of her father. She was here because of her. The grocery business was her idea and her father supported her in it.

Prachi wasn't the biological child of the Ahluwalias. They adopted her when she was 5 years old.

She didn't remember much about her childhood in the orphanage.

"Radhu! Kahan bhaag rhi ho? Khatam kro isse."

"Mujhe nhi achha laga ye. Ye chii hai amma."

She made a gagging face and the lady glared at her making her pout.

"Arre amma itna pyara naam hai uska. Kya aap Radhu Radhu krti rehti ho. Uske naam se bulao na. Radha!"

She remembered only some bits of it. Like she remembered her name was Radha. She also got glimpses of a boy who she roamed around but nothing more than that.

She was too young at the time. But she won't trade her life for anything in the world. Her parents were the best thing that happened to her.

She and Misha were sprawled on the living room bean bags and Prachi was lost in her thoughts.

"Kya soch rhe ho?"

Misha asked and Prachi sighed.

"Soch rhi hu ki agar mumma papa ne mujhe adopt nhi kia hota toh mai shayad aaj bhi orphan hi hoti."

Misha glared at her sister who smiled at her expressions.

"Dobara ye word mat use kr lena aap."

Prachi smiled slightly and said.

"Sach toh hai na Mishu. Mujhe samajh nhi aata ki mai mumma papa ka ehsaan kaise chuka paaungi. They have given me everything a child could yearn for. Love, respect, care, a life of dignity and sabse important they gave me a family."

Prachi said and the next moment a light slap landed on her cheek.

"Ek na keech kr lagaungi mai tere."

It was her mother. Prachi sat straight and her mother looked at her emotionally.

"Koi ehsaan nhi kia hai humne tujh pr. Tu hamari zondagi mai ek blessing se kam nhi hai bache."

Prachi hugged her mother and heard her father speak.

"Log kehte hai jab beti ghar aati toh matlab laxmi ne ghar mai kadam rkha hai. Sahi kehte hai. Tu bhale hi hamari biological child nhi hai lekin tu mera pehla bacha hai. Mujhe pehli baar papa sunne ki khushi tune di hai."

Prachi now had tears in her eyes and she hugged her father.

"Log kehte honge humne teri zindagi sudhari lekin sach toh ye hai ki tune hamari zindagi mai aakar hume parenthood ki khushi di hai."

"Papa!"

She whispered and he caressed her head.

"Haan aur phir tere aane ke do saal ke andar ye bandariya bhi aa gyi. Chamatkar se kam nhi tha ye."

She said and Misha pouted.

"Di ko itna pyaar aur mujhe bandariya. Ab toh mujhe doubt ho rha hai di. Mujhe toh adopt nhi kia aap logo ne."

She said grumbling and everyone burst out laughing while Prachi hugged her little sister.

Abhimanyu entered his home with Manav on his trail. He went and laid down on the couch with his head on his mother's lap and smiled at her.

She smiled and kissed his head moving her fingers in his hair and he closed his eyes in bliss. This was heaven. His mother's lap.

"I know you are still looking for her. Lekin beta how long? Itne saalon se we have tried everything lekin it was of no use."

She started and Abhimanyu sighed. He knew she was right. Since so many years everyone had tried with him. But there was no result.

"I know maa. And I have accepted it ki agar usse mujhse milna hoga toh Krishna ji mujhe khud usse milwa denge. Uske liye mujhe kuch krna hi nhi padega. Aur agar nhi milna hoga toh mere lakh koshish krne ke baad bhi nhi milegi."

His mother smiled. She parted his hair from his forehead and said.

"Toh phir kya socha hai?"

He smiled and said.

"I think I'll go with the flow this time. Maine jitni koshish krni thi kr li. Ab jo krna hai wo apne aap krenge. My fate and destiny is in His hands now."

He said and his mother's eyes twinkled.

"Toh matlab you will meet the girl we selected for you?"

He nodded and she almost squealed.

"Prachi Ahluwalia!"

She said and Abhimanyu frowned.

"What about her?"

"Usse pasand kia hai humne. Such a sweet girl she is. Mujhe bhut pasand aayi."

"Prachi Ahluwalia. I don't know much about her. Sirf photos mai dekha hai maine usse. I've never even met her once."

"Toh? Meet her now na. This is the beauty of arranged marriage. You get to know each other and learn new things about each other throughout your lives. Inn chhote chhote moments ke beech you fall in love with your partner. Each shade of them."

She said and gave his father a beautiful smile which he returned with a big smile.
