The Sharma house was bustling with noises. Men chatting, women giggling and kids laughing and running around the house.

Everyone was really happy. And why not? It was the Sharma princess' wedding.

It was her mehandi today but wait why did our bride not look happy?

Tanya was sitting in one place getting her mehandi done. But she had no smile on her face.

Her eyes were dull and sad. Tanya wass lost deep in her thoughts when she heard someone call her name repeatedly making her come out of her reverie.

She looked at the mehandi artist look at her with a frown.

"Umm-sorry. Haan?"

"Naam kya likhna hai didi?"

Tanya looked confused.

"Naam?"

"Aapne hone wale pati ka? Kya naam hai?"

Her eyed went towards the one she wanted to get married to. He was right there. Talking with her brother. The man she loved. But man she wasn't getting married to.

He was her brother's best friend. And she had loved him since she remembers.

"Didi? Kya naam likhu?"

The artist now seemed to get irritated by her lack of response.

"Umm-naam nhi. Aap bas ek chhota sa 'P' likh do."

The woman seemed confused. Every bride was so excited about having her would be husband's name on her palm.

Only if she knew Tanya never wanted this marriage and was only doing this because of her parents'happiness. She has been saying no to every alliance because of Parth, her love.

She knew he could never love her. But she also knew she couldn't keep sitting at home because of him. She had marry someone. And so here she was.

And what a coincidence it was that her would be husband and him shared the same initial.

It was evening and Tanya's mehandi was dry. She was pulled by her best friend on the dance floor and for the first time in the whole day she laughed genuinely.

She loved her friends and family. When she was dancing she saw her father look at her with teary eyes and a soft smile on his lips.

Her eyes teared up and she hugged him. The two sobbed in each other's arms and the atmosphere became emotional. Even Tarush, her brother had tears in his eyes as he kissed her head hugging her to his heart.

The event was over and everyone had retired to their rooms. Tanya too had changed and was going to get water for herself when she bumped into someone.

The floor was a little slippery and she lost her balance. Two arms clutched her waist and pulled her into a strong chest. Her arms flew around his neck and the other on his shoulder to balance herself.

Her eyes clashed with the ones she had seen secretly. The grey orbs she loved too much.

He straightened her but didn't leave her. Not that she minded. His forehead was marred with a frown as he looked at her eyes. They were red due to crying and a little swollen.

"You were crying?"

He asked in a slow whisper. She pulled back and looked away.

She couldn't tell him she had cried because she wanted to get married to him. Wanted him to love her. Wanted him to look at her like she looks at him.

"I was feeling emotional."

She said filling herself a jug of water. He nodded which she didn't see for her back to his face.

His gaze fell on her hands and he smiled.

"It's beautiful."

He whispered and she looked at him with a questioning frown.

"Tumhari mehandi. Bhut khoobsurat hai."

She looked at her palms and her gaze fell on the 'P'. Honestly she had asked for only the initial because she didn't want another man's name on her hands.

"Thank you."

She whispered and left from there lest she speaks something she regrets. Her emotions were all over the place and she didn't trust herself around him anymore. What if she ends up confessing her feelings to him and he rejects her?

The next morning Tanya woke up late. She had her parlour booking. Still in her cotton night suit she went outside and greeted everyone on the breakfast table.

She avoided Parth's eye and sat beside her father. Her mother caressed her head and held her hands.

"Kitni pyaari lag rhi hai teri mehandi. Kehte hai jitna gehra rang hone wala pati utna pyaar krta hai."

Tanya tried smiling and restrained herself not to look at Parth.

Her mother was right. Her would be husband was going to love her a lot.

"Mumma? Parlour ki booking kitne baje ki hai?"

She asked after finishing her breakfast. More like brunch since it was almost 1pm.

"Bas nikalte hai. Saara saaman bag mai rakh le. Mai bhi apna saaman rakh rhi hu. Gaadi mai rakhwao. Tarush! Tanya ka lehanga gaadi mai rakhwa itne. Mai uski jewellery nikalti hu."

Her mother shouted instructions at everyone while running around collecting the necessary stuff.

Tanya helped her brother. She was carrying the bag which had her bridal lehanga towards the car to her brother when she was blocked by a huge wall of muscles.

"Mai le kar jaata hu. You get the other stuff tab tak."

Parth said and she gave it to him without any arguments and went inside to get the other stuff while he looked at her retreating back.

How he wished he could tell her how much he loved her. How he wished it was him she was getting married to.

Shaking his thoughts off he went to put her lehanga in the car.

Tanya, Tarush's wife and Tanya's mother reached the parlour by 2pm. Tarush and Parth helped them keep their stuff inside.

By the time her mother and sister in-law were being dolled up she got her nails and makeup done.

Her mother and sister-in-law then left to get the preparations for the wedding done while Tanya was getting ready.
