Nicholas POV

I tried concentrating on the words in front of me, but my resolve was breaking as this beautiful creature sat on the couch in front of me. She was lost in some sad thoughts as she sipped her tea and I couldn't help but feel it was my doing. I didn't have any real reason to hate her other than what I was taught my whole life; werewolves were savage beast who sought only power and control.

Serenity wasn't just a sexy badass, she was kind, funny, and smart as hell. She had a natural talent in her magics, but absorbed information and quickly applied it in every way possible. I found her intriguing.

"You're doing it again." Serenity eyes met mine and I smirked at getting caught. I couldn't help but stare at her. She was so gorgeous with those thick lips, dark skin, and these hazel eyes with tints of yellow. I knew she had her father's electricity in her, she just didn't know how to tap into yet.

"What?" I shrugged my shoulders, brushing it off.

"You're staring at me like you're trying to figure out what other worldly creature I am that doesn't belong here."

"That's not what I was thinking." I closed my book, knowing I wasn't reading anymore tonight. She had a way to to drive my blood pressure through the roof and I couldn't calm my nerves no matter what I did. I liked her, a lot, but she had a dangerous beast attached to her soul. I couldn't let my guard down around her.

"Really? I can see your wonder and disgust etched all over your face. Your stupid dimples tick in and out as you clench your jaw."

"You think you know me now? My dimples are not ticking and I don't think you don't belong here. Well, you don't belong literally here practicing magic, but I mean you belong here in this world, otherwise the goddess would had let you die."

She rolled her eyes at me still fuming in anger. "What makes you so great that you can practice, but I'm so inferior? Plenty of wolves existed that had magic. Shadows still exist today."

"Yeah and that's exactly my point. They are the reason we are facing all these problems. If they didn't control magic then the world would not be headed to tear at its seams."

"What? How are they possibly capable of doing that?"

"They move between worlds. If they bring a Fae into our world it will rip a bridge between the worlds."

Serenity shook her head not understanding what I was saying. I found her brilliant, but she was naive. "What do you mean they move between the worlds?"

"It is said that when a Shadow moves in the darkness they are caught between worlds. Your Queen was cursed with all magics, including the magic of a Shadow."

"All power? My father said all the elements and she has never been able to move in the Shadows before."

"Well it is all theory at this point, but some say the interruption of the goddess centuries ago was all magics not all elements. You would have to be very powerful to bring someone in a Shadow with you, but with the Queen's supposed strength she could not only move between the darkness, but between worlds, and bring others with her. She would need to be trained to do this of course. If it's true and her child had this power too then that is how he could bring forth the Fae as predicated. There are many theories though."

Serenity remained quiet a long while sipping her tea. No one taught her any of these theories or prophecies before and I didn't have the time or the patiences to catch her up. She stood up abruptly, making me jump.

"Relax!" She rolled her eyes how timid I was with her. If she wanted to kill me though, I would already be dead.

"You scared me. What are doing?"
